45 Drug Items Had Withdrawn From Hospitals During Last 08 Months Due To Low Quality

A total of 45 Medicinal Drugs /injections
and Surgical items had withdrawn from government hospitals during last 08 months due to low quality  according to Medical Supplies Division  (MSD).

Out of these Low quality drug items 27 were removed from hospitals during January, February and June it has been revealed .

Out of these removed drugs Warfarin  Sodium tablets manufactured by a same Indian drug company had withdrawn from hospitals on 06 occasions and  Benzathine Penicillin injection produced by an Indian company had withdrawn from hospitals on 04 occasions    .

During last year 98 Drugs /injections and Surgical items had withdrawn from hospitals due to poor quality. 

Maldives Government Requested Sri Lanka To Provide Doctors /Nurses For Their Health Services

Government of  Maldives had
requested Sri Lankan government to provide 132 Sri Lankan doctors and 80 Registered Nurses for a one year period on contract basis to fulfill the requirements of Natonal health service in Maldives .

Accordingly Government of Maldives had requested Sri Lankan government to provide the services of 132 doctors imcluding AneathesIsts ,Medical officers and physicians as well as 80 Registered nurses to recruit to hospitals in Maldives,  through the foreign affairs Ministry. of Sri Lanka.

The South Asia / Saarc Division of Foreign Ministry has forwarded the request to the Secretary of Ministry of Health for consideration. 

Eleven Corona Positives Had Been Discharged From Hospitals Today (09)

A total of 11 Corona positives had been
discharged from hospitals today (09) after full recovery, increasing the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals so far to 2946 According to Epidemeology Unit.

At the moment 184 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.

Education Minister Has Advised The Secretary To Open All School Grades And Canteens

Whilst Authorities in  Most
countries had taken steps to either close down schools or opening schools due to the Corona pandamic , Sri Lanka 's Minister of Education Professor G.L. Pieris had advised the Secretary of the Ministry to reopen all grades of Schools and Canteens by following Corona guidelines issued by the Health Ministry  .

Accordingly When opening School Canteens Principals and teaching staff should  take action to prevent school children from gather in front  of  School Canteens Education Ministry has stated  .
When serving food inside Canteens school authorities should take steps to keep social distancing among School  children the Education Secretary has announced. 

Classes of Grade 06 and above in all schools had begun today(08) after closing them in last March to prevent spreading of Corona virus .
