Education Minister Has Advised The Secretary To Open All School Grades And Canteens
countries had taken steps to either close down schools or opening schools due to the Corona pandamic , Sri Lanka 's Minister of Education Professor G.L. Pieris had advised the Secretary of the Ministry to reopen all grades of Schools and Canteens by following Corona guidelines issued by the Health Ministry .
Accordingly When opening School Canteens Principals and teaching staff should take action to prevent school children from gather in front of School Canteens Education Ministry has stated .
When serving food inside Canteens school authorities should take steps to keep social distancing among School children the Education Secretary has announced.
Classes of Grade 06 and above in all schools had begun today(08) after closing them in last March to prevent spreading of Corona virus .
Seventeen Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (08)-09 Of Them From. A Local Corona Cluster
A total of 17 Corona positives had been
reported in the coutcry today (08)according to the Epidemeology Unit.
Accordingly 09 inmates of The Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center belongs to the Kandakadu Corona cluster, 06 arrivals from Qatar and 02 arrivals from Kuwait had tested positive for Corona virus today.
With these positives the total number of Corona positives reported so far had risen to 3140 .

discharged from hospitals today (08)after full recovery according to Epidemeology Unit .
Accordingly the total number of Corona positives recovered and discharged so far had risen to 2935.
At the moment 193 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals.

Malli who had Been elected to the Parliament from Ruling Podu jana Peramuna party whilst in prison on a death row, had sworn in as a MP before speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardana today (08) amidst the Opposotion of Opposotion MP's.
MP Jayasekare has become the first MP in Parliament that had sworn in as MP after sentencing to death over a murder he had committed in Ratnapura District.
Opposition MP's led by main opposition Samagi Janabalawegaya (SJB) had protested over swearing in of the MP who had committed a murder by wearing black shawls and later all MP's of SJB party had left Parliament house as a protest
MP Jayasekare had sworn in as a MP after court of Appeal had given him permission yesterday (07)to attend Parliament sessions after considering the writ petition submitted by him
Earlier Attorney General Dappula De Livera as well as the General Secretary of Parliament had Stated that MP Jayasekare couldn't attend Parliament and take oath as a MP as he had found guilty as a murderer by the court.
