286 Passangers Stranded In Australia, 148 In Japan And 28 In Qatar Brought Back To Sri Lanka

A group of 286 Sri lankans stranded at
Melbourne, Australia Due to the Corona pandamic had been brought back to Sri Lanka from a special Sri Lankan Airlines flight last night  (09) according to authorities.

The special flight carrying the group of Sri Lankans had landed at Mattala International  Airport last night.

Meanwhile  another 148 Sri lankans  stranded in Japan had Been brought back to Sri Lanka by a special Sri Lankan Airlines flight this morning (10) And a  Qatar Airways flight had brought back 28 Sri Lankans stranded in Qatar due to the pandamic. Both planes had arrived at Katunayake International. Airport.

"PCR "tests had been performed to all these Passangers arrived in both yesterday and today amd later they were transported to nearby hotels Untill receiving their test results.  

Former Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe Had step-down From The UNP Leadership

Leader Ranil Wikramasinghe has today (10)decided to step down from the leadership of the One of the oldest parties  in Sri Lanka, United National Party  (UNP) following the worst ever defeat faced  by the Party  at the recently concluded Parliamentary Election .

Both UNP and it"s leader Ranil Wikramasinghe had been defeated in the election  and the former Premier has not  able to secure a seat in the Parliament.

UNP Leader has taken this decision to step down from his post during the meeting of the working committe held at Party Headquarthers in Sirikotha ,Colombo today.

General Secretary of the United National Party Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, Deputy leader of the Party Ravi Karunanayake, Former Minister    Daya Gamage and Vajira Abeywardana had been  nominated for the post and the new leader of the Party is due to be announced on this Tuesday (11).

A Group Of 178 Sri Lankans In Maldives Had Been Brought Back To Sri Lanka This Noon (10)

A total of 178 Sri Lankans stranded at
Maldives due to the Corona pandamic had been brought back to the island this noon (10) by a special Sri Lankan Airlines flight.

Accordingly the flight arrived from Male International Airport at Maldives had landed at Mattala International Airport in Hambanthota District  (Southern Province ).

"PCR "tests had been performed to all the Passangers  of the flight along with cabin crew members and later they were transported to nearby hotels Untill receiving their test results. 

27 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (10)-23 Were Inmates At Senapura Rehabilitation Center

A total of 27 Corona positives had been
reported so far in the country  today (10),increasing the total number of Corona positives reported to 2871 according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly 23 out of the 27 Corona positives identified today through "PCR "tests were inmates of the Senapura Drug Rehabilitation Center who are under quarantine and 03 positives were arrivals from United Arab Emirates .Other corona positive had been not mentioned .

At the moment the total number of Corona positives are being treated in Government Hospitals had risen to 267.
