A New Method Of Transporting Drugs To Prison Has Been Revealed -A Cat Was Captured Near The Welikada Prison Whilst Transporting Heroin

A Cat with a contraband tied  around
his neck had been captured by the  prison officers  yesterday (01)near the Welikada Prison whilst  carrying 7 Grammes of Heroin,  02 phone sim cards and 02 memory cards inside a small pouch tied to his  contraband it has been reported.

The Cat was captured accordance to the information provided by the  prison Intelligence officials.

Due to the Corona pandamic threat outsiders  are not allowed to visit prison inmates of all prisons in the country .As a result drug traffickers are using trained  animals to transport drugs at present according to Police .

Fourteen Females Had Been Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Wasp Attack

Fourteen Female estate workers
attached to Osborne Tea Estate at NortonBridge area (Up Country ) had been injured  and hospitalized yesterday  (01)due to a Wasp attack .

The injured were admitted to the DiKoya Base Hospital for treatment and their condition is not serious according to reports.

The incident  occured Whilst the injured workers were plucking  tea leaves it has been revealed.

Wasps had provoked and attacked the workers afree an   Hawk had  attackEd the  wasps nest.

Another 48 Corona positives had been
discharged from hospitals this morning (01) after full recovery according to the Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly the total number of Corona positives discharged from hospitals so far had risen to 2439 the unit has stated.

At the moment 369 Corona positives and 48 Suspected cases are being treated at Government Hospitals.
