Government To Provide Concessions To The Electricity Bills Issued During Last March ,April And May

Government has decided to grant

concessions for the Electricity bills of the consumers for the months of March,April and May where an island wide  curfew has been imposed to prevent spreading of corona virus ,as the Electricity Board had forced consumers to pay double of the regular bill amounts.

According to the Cabinet Spokesman ,Minister Bandula Gunawardana the five member committe set up to look in to the ways that granting concessions for the bills of Electricity consumers had suggested that government should bear  the 25 percent of those Electricity consumers for the first 90 units ,providing a Three month grace period for consumers to settle the Electricity bills and not to disconnect the Electricity over late payments of those moths.

The report of the committee had been ihanded over to the Cabinet .

However as President wants  more additional concessions to be given to the consumers regarding their electricity bills for  the mentioned months Cabinet will be made a final decision on this during next week's  Cabinet meeting the Minister has stressed .

Another 03 Close Associates Of A Kandakadu Drug Rehabitation Center Officer Tested Positive For Corona infection -300 positives Reported Yesterday (10)

Another three close associates of an

officer attached to Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center had tested positive for Corona virus yesterday  (10),increasing the total number of Corona positives reported yesterday to 300 according to Epidemeology Unit.

Accordingly the total number of  Corona positives reported so far in the country has been increased to 2454 the unit has stated.

Meanwhile  two prison officers attached to the kitchen at Colombo Remand prison had fallen sick and admitted to Colombo National Hospital yesterday. Both officers are being quarantined at the ward there and they are due to undergo "PCR "tests to check their corona status today (11)according to sources.

At the moment 463 Corona positives are being treated in  Government Hospitals. 

Two Houses Of Kandakadu Officers And A Temple At Palmadulla Are Being Quarantined As The Officers Visited Them

Health authorities in Palmadulla had

yesterday (10)taken steps to quarantine two houses in Palmadulla belonging to two officers attached to Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center where a new corons cluster has emerged and a Temple in palmadulla as the two officers had visited their houses and  the temple few days ago according to sources.

Accordingly the two relevent officers at Kandakadu center had visited their houses in Kiriweldeniya and Narangoda at Palmadulla and the one in Kiriweldeniya   had visited the temple in the area and spent some time with Buddhist Monks there  it has been  revealed.

Authorities had taken steps to perform "PCR "tests on the two officers and Five members of their  houses as well as on five Buddhist Monks at the Temple they have visited it has been reported  The two officers had been safely sent back to the Kandakadu center which is now converted to a make-shift Hospital  to treat those tested positive for Corona virus at the center .

Second Corona Positive Identified At Welikada Prison Today (10);Is Working As A Barbar At The Prison

The second Corona positive identified

at Welikada Prison in Colombo today (10)is working as a Barbar at the prison it has been revealed.

After showing Corona infection symptoms he had undergone a "PCR "Test to check his corona status last Wednesday  (08) and admitted to the prisons Hospital. Afterwards.

According to the test results issued today he was confirmed as a corona positive. The victim had stayed at the same prison cell where the rehabilitated prison inmates sent from Kandakadu Drug Rehabitation Center Were stayed .

The victim had done hair cuts as a Barbar for several inmates    in several.wards of the prison Hospital it has been reported. 

Meanwhile prison Authorities had suspended outsiders from visiting all  prisons  in the island with immediate effect after identifying the first Corona positive Prison inmate  at Welikada Prison.
