Covid Prevention Tas k Force has today (12)decided to allow all Main Buddhist Temples and Devalaya's t in the country to conduct their Annual processions (Perahera)without the participation of public by following the Corona prevention Health Guidelines according to the President's Media Division .
Accordingly Annual Processions of All temples and Devalaya's including Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy ,Sabaragamuwa and Kataragama Devalaya's ' will be held this year as usual without the public and with the participation of minimum number of Artistes .
The Artistes selected to participate the processions should be participated with the health certificatte issued by the Health officer in tbeir respective areas the President's Media division has stated .
All the events of the annual Esala perahera (Proession ) in Kandy Sri dalada Maligawa are scheduled to be telecasted live over the T.v for ten days it has been announced.
This wil be the first time in Sri Lanka's History that the Annual.processions are scheduled to be held without public viewers and partucipation of minimum number of Artistes .
These decisions had been taken during a meeting held between Covid Prevention Task force members and Basnayake Nilame's of Devalaya's today under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapakshe .
open religious places which were closed down to prevent spreading of Corona Virus ,For tbe public to artend Religious services with effect from today (12).
However the petmission had given to open these religious places whilst maintaining health guidelines issued to prevent spreading of Corona virus including physical distance of one meter among those worshippers attending tbe services it has been announced .
However a limited number of 50 persons are being allowed to arrend religious services of these religious places at once and if there's no space to accomadate that anount only half of the maximum capacity of that religious place is being allowed to attend ,the Government Information Department has announced.
Although a date has been fixed for the General Election ,National Election Commission has not yet decided the exact dates to conduct the postal voting it has been revealed.
However the Election Commission members who met yestetday (11) had dicussed the possiblility of holdimg the postal voting on 13,14,15 and 16th of July .
The dates for the Postal Voting are scheduled to be announced soon according to tbe commission . The
way public can cast their vote along with the health guidelines are also due.
