Speaker Karu Jayasuriya Has Named Ranil Wikramasinghe As Opposition Leader
Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has today
(27)stated through a message posted to Twitter that he has to accept the leader of United National Front (UNF) former Prime Minister Ranil Wilramasinghe as the opposition leader of the Parliament .
Accordance to the request made by the General secretary of the United National Party Akila Viraj Kariyawasam with letter of support signed by more than 40 United National Party MP's Ranil Wkramasinghe will be the new opposition leader Speaker has tweeted .
Speaker has made this statememt accordance to the parliamentary traditions he has streesed.
Speaker Jayasuriya has also stated that the internal problems of the United National Party(UNP) should be solved within the party.

38 State And Deputy Mimisters Have Been Sworn In This Morning (27)
38 State and Deputy Ministers ( 35 State
Ministers and 03 Deputy Ministers) including several Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Party And Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) Parliamemtarians with fraud and corruption charges have been sworn in before President Gotabaya Rajapakshe and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapskshe this morning (27) at Presidential Secretariet in Colombo Fort .
Among the 38 State And Deputy Ministers appointed to assist 15 member cabinet to implement government policies are 15 new parliamemtariens which 13 are state ministers .Sri Lanka Freedom Party was offered 08 State Ministry portfolios .
Several Parliamentariens who have been sworn in as State and Deputy Minisrers got court cases pending over financial frauds and one is charged over large scale Drug smuggling according to reports .
Addressing rhe gatheting after swearing in ceremony of State and Deputy Ministers ,President Gitabaya Rajapakshe has stated these Ministerial portfolios are not previlages offered but responsibilities offered to serve the people.

Government To Reduce 17 Percent VAT And Nation Building Tax(NBT) To 8 Percent
Cabinet of the new Interim government
has today (27)decided to reduce 17 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) and Nation Building Tax(NBT) imposed on several products and services to 8 percent with effect from 01st of December.
Accordingly Telecommunucation levy has been reduced by 25 percent and the 28 percent Construction indistry tax to be reduced to 14 percent Cabinet spokesman and Minister Of Media Bandula Gunawardena has stated .
The first cabinet meeting of the new government was held at President's house this morning under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajspakshe.
However the ways which will increase the Government income have not yet been revealed .
