Cabinet of the new Interim government
has today (27)decided to reduce 17 percent Value Added Tax (VAT) and Nation Building Tax(NBT) imposed on several products and services to 8 percent with effect from 01st of December.
Accordingly Telecommunucation levy has been reduced by 25 percent and the 28 percent Construction indistry tax to be reduced to 14 percent Cabinet spokesman and Minister Of Media Bandula Gunawardena has stated .
The first cabinet meeting of the new government was held at President's house this morning under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajspakshe.
However the ways which will increase the Government income have not yet been revealed .
