Former Premier D.M Jayaratne Passed Away

The most senior Sri Lanka Freedom
Party (SLFP)member former Prime minister D.M Jayarana has passed away at the age of 90 today (19)at a private hospital in colombo .

The former Prime Minister and Minister of Agricultute and Lands D..M Jayaratne had  been elected to the parliament for the firtst time  in 1970 .He was the 14 th Prime minister in Sri Lanka. 

Around 17 Houses Partially Destroyed Due To Strong Winds In Wanduramba,Galle

Around 17 houses at Madakimbiya area
in Wanduramba,Galle had been partially destroyed due to the  strong winds blown away across the area this evening (19).

Seventy one persons belonging to twenty families had been displaced due to this situation  accordance to Disaster Managment Center .

Authorities had taken steps to provide relief to the displaced pwrsons .

New President Assumed His Duties -Appointed Two Controversial Figures As Presidential And Decense Secretaries

President Gotabaya Rajapakshe has
today (19)assumed  his duties as president at Presidential Secretariet in Colombo .

He has appointed Former Treassury Secretary Dr.P.B Jayasundara as the new Presidential secretary.

Retired Army  Major General Kamal Gunaratne has been appointed as the Defense secretary and Dr.S.R Atigala appointed as finance secretary and secretary to the Treasurry .

The appointment of Dr.P.B Jayasundara as Presidential Secretary and Major General Kamal Gunaratne As Defense Secretary becomes controversial to many due to their imvolvement in malpractises in the past .

Atigala is a deputy governor of Central Bank and gave evidence before the Bond scam committe regarding the Central Bank Bond Scam it has been revealed .

National Election Commission To Recycle Cardboard Ballot Boxes

National Election Commission has
decided to provide 13,000 Cardboard Ballot boxes purchased for the recently concluded Presidential Election to a private company for recycling process the Commission has announced .

By providing these Cardboard ballot boxes for recycling Commission wil receive an extra income it has been reported .

Election Commission has purchased the Cardboard Ballot Boxes by spending Es.1200 for a Box .
