Twenty Tnree Thai Female Prostitutes Had Been Arrested In A Colpetty Brothel House

Police officers attached to Crimes
prevention unit of Colpetty Police have arrested 23 Thai Female  Prostitutes during a raid carried out in a Brothel House at Colpetty on the pretext of a SPA Ayurveda Medical Center last friday (04)evening .

The raid was carried out accordance to the information received by the Colpetty police on the Brothel House operated by Two Sri Lankan females .

The arrested females are of the ages 20-40 years it has been revealed .

Election Commission Chairman Requested Government /Semi Government Employees To Refrain From Strikes

Chairman of the National Election
Commission Mahinda Deshapriya has today(06)requested all the Government and ,Semi government employees atacched to corporations ,Boards and Banks to refrain from launching  continuous trade union actions  during the   Presidential election period  .

Whilst recognizing the right of employees to strike Election Commission Chairman has stressed that the employees should have solved their demands through discussion .
  

Fourty One Candidates Deposited Money For The Forthcoming Presidential Election

Fourty one candidates representing 19
recognized political parties ,19 Independent Groups and 03 other parties had  deposited money to contest for the forthcoming Presidential Election ,today (06) according to the National Election Commission .

The depositing of money for the Presidential Election had been concluded by 12 noon  today (06).

Handing over of nominations for the election is scheduled  to be held from 9 a.m to 11 a.m tomorrow (07) at the National Election commission ar Rajagiriya and submitting objections for the nominations can be done from 9 a.m to 11.30 a.m it has been announced .

Due to the handing over of nominatioms for the presidential election  all schools of three Educational Zones in Colombo and tbree schools in Jayawardanapura Educational Zone will be
 closed down tomorrow according to the Ministry of Education .

Presidential Election is scheduled to be held on 16 th of November .

Supreme Court Has Dismissed A Petition Last Friday Seeking To Invalidate Presidential Election Gazette Notification

Supreme Court has last Friday
(04)dismissed the petition filed by former Galle Mayor of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Methsiri De Silva seeking to invalidate the Gazette notification issued by the Election Commissioner that the presidential election should be held on 16th of November.

The petition argues that the current president 's term is six years and holding the presidential Election before ending his term would be affected the soverignty of the people .

Petition has named president of National Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya and Commission members as respondents of the case .

However through the 19 th amendmemt to the constitution present government had reduced the term of Executive president to five years from six years .Current President Maithripala Sirisena has been elected to office in January 2015.
