Patients Charter StUck In The Health Ministry Since Few Years
The Patients Charter which enlists
various rights and responsibilities of patients has been prepared in 2002 by the Health Ministry and still stuck in the Ministry without implementing it claims the Director of Alliance Lanka Dr.Lanka Jayasuriya Dissanayake.
Addressing a Media Seminar on Non Communicable Diseases held at Health Promotions Bureau in Colombo last morning (30) Dr.Dissanayake has stated that three Health Ministers held office since 2002 not been able to implement this all important Patients Charter .
The Charter had been sent to the Parliamentary Select Committee and the Committee has Approved it and sent it back to the Health Ministry for necessary action around 2010 .
However this important charter is still stuck in the Ministry without a reason she has stressed.

A Person Was Arrested With 14 Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

Naval Command and Special Police Task Force Personal (STF)in Kokmaduwa area had arrested a 45 year old person with 14 Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in his possession at Weligama, Matara during a special search operation carried out in the area on Sunday (29).
The suspect who is a resident of Denipitiya area has been handed over to Weligama Police along with the stock of Kerala Cannabis for further investigations.

The stock of Dry chillies which was imported from India by 16 local Importers had been released to the market before receiving the report of food Inspector it has been revealed.
The Department of Customs is planning to file a court case against the importers of the chillie stock it has been revealed.
