A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Motorcycle -Private Bus Collision

A 47 year old Motorcyclist had been
killed due to A Motorcycle -Private Bus Collision at Wanduramba in Galle -Mapalagama road yesterday (31).

The critically injured Motorcyclist who was a resident of Wanduramba area  had succumbed to his injuries when admitted to  Karapitiya Teaching Hospital .

Wanduramba Police have arrested the Bus driver over the incident.

The suspect had been handed over to the Ratnapura Police for further investigations.

All Government And Private Schools To Be Re Opened For Third Term Tomorrow (03)

All Government and Private schools
except 12 schools will be re - opened for the educational activities of the third term  tomorrow (02) after a month long holidays .

Accordingly 12 schools including Royal Collage ,Nalanda Collage and Hindu Collage in Colombo ,Kingswood ,Seethadevi Balika and Viharamahadevi Balika Collages in Kandy and Saint Anne's in Kurunagala   will not be re opened tomorrow due to the marking of answer scripts of the G.C.E Advanced Level Examination. They are due to be re opened for the third term on 16 th of September it has been announced .


Four Persons Arrested With A Haul Of Narcotics

Corruption Unit of the Kandy Police Division had arrested four persons with 1832 Mili Grammes of Kerala Cannabis and 217  Mili Grammes of Heroin in possesion at Katugasthota area yesterday  (31).

The suspects of the ages 20-30 years are scheduled to be produced before Kandy Magistrate Court today (01).

Two Persons Arrested With 6480 Kilo Grammes Of Waste Tea

Police have arrested two persons whilst transporting 6480 Kilo Grammes of Waste Tea at Nittambuwa area yesterday  (31) during a search operation carried out in the area .

The suspects who are residents of Muruthagahamula and Galaha areas are scheduled to be produced before the Attanagalla Magistrate Court today (01).
