Parliament Had Extended The Duration Of Parliament Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday Attacks

Parliament has today (21) approved a proposal submitted to the house to extend the time given for the Parliament Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday Attacks to prepare it's final report on the probe until 30th of September .

The duration of the Select Committee which has been appointed on 22nd of May to investigate on Easter Sunday Attacks scheduled to be ended by this Friday (23).

House Leader Lakshman Kiriella had submitted the proposal to extend the time given for  the Select Committee to prepare it's final report .

Earlier Committee members have predicted that the final Committee report could  be prepared by the end of this month .

A large number of state officials including Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe and former Army Commander General Mahesh Senanayake had given evidence before the committee on the Easter Sunday attacks .The committee is scheduled to record a statement from President Maithripala Sirisena  who is also the Defense Minister mover the Easter Sunday attacks .

Police Lifesaving Guards Had Rescued A Drowning British Mother And Son

drowning සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලThree Police Lifesaving Guards  attached to Tangalle Police Division had rescued a British National Mother and Son whilst they were drifted  away by rough sea waves in the sea area of Madilla ,Tangalle (Southern Sri Lanka)  today (21).

The British Mother Samatha Fenn (49)and her son Steve Fenn had been drifted away by rough sea waves whilst bathing in Madilla sea area near the Tourist Hotel they are staying at it has been revealed .

As the two victims couldn't swim the Son had held his mother and shouted for help and as a result  the three Police lifesaving Guards  have arrived there for  help .

First Boat Transport Service In Beira Lake To Reduce Traffic In Colombo To Be Operated From Tomorrow (22)

The first Passanger Boat Transport
Service in Beira Lake located in Colombo from Union Place to Colombo Fort will be  inaugurated tomorrow  (22)as a solution for the heavy traffic congestion experienced  in Colombo .

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe is scheduled  to be opened the Boat Service comprising of three boats .

The Passanger Boat service is being operated jointly by Ministry of Megapolis and Sri Lanka  Land Reclamation Corporation assisted by Sri LANKA Navy it has been announced .

The duration of the destination when travelling from Union place Colombo to Colombo Fort is 9-10 minutes when comparing to 30 minutes spent when travelling by Bus according to reports .The Boat Service is scheduled to be operated free of charge for the first month .

Full security measures are being adapted during the transport service according to Ministry Of Megapolis .

The Boat Service is being implemented accordance to the feasible studies done to find out a way to operate Boat services in internal water ways

A Skilled Parachutist Has Died After Failing To Open His Parachute

A 42 year old skilled Sri Lankanjy
,parachutist Chanpika Kumarasinha
attached to Special Task Force in Army has died this morning  (20)after failing to open his parachute when he was jumped from  10,000 feet high at Airforce Base in Uhana,Ampara area .

The deceased parachutist who had participated many international Parachute Displays has died after falling to t
Parachute landing zone near Airforce Base in uhana  it had been revealed.

He had succumbed to his injuries before admission to Ampara Base Hospital.

The deceased parachutist was one of the parachutist who had successfully Jumped from Shangri-La Hotel ,Colombo  with his parachute during Independence day celebrations  .

He is a resident of Kamburupitiya area .
