Navy And Police Had Arrested Two Suspects With 16.5 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis
Sri Lanka Navy and Police Anti Narcotic Bureau had arrested two persons with 16.5 Kilo Of Kerala Cannabis in possession during a Joint Raid carried out at a forest area in Pungudathivu, Jaffna today (20).
The stock of Kerala cannabis stored in 08 parcels had taken in to custody whilst hiding in the forest it has been revealed .
The two suspects who are of the ages 42 and 29 years had been arrested whilst travelling in a Cab at Pungudathivu .The suspects are residents of Vavuniya and Mannar and they along with the stock of Kerala Cannabis had been handed over to the Kayts Police for further investigations .

European Union Has Opposed The Appointment Of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva As New Army Commander
European Union has also issued an official statement against the appointment of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva as the Sri Lanka's Army Commander citing serious Human Rights and Humanitarian law violation charges against him .
The statement issued by the representative Council of European Union accordance to the agreement reached by Dutch,Italian,German,U.K,Switzerland and Norway Embassies/High Commissions it has been announced .
European has supported the deep concern paid by the United Nations Human Rights Commissioner Michelle Bachelet over the appointment of New Sri Lankan Army Commander Shavendra Silva the statement has stressed .
This appointment will seriously affect the commitment Sri Lanka made on National Reconciliation the statement has further stated .

TID Officials Have Arrested Two Muslim Maulavi's
Terrorist Investigations Division (TID) officers had today (20) arrested two Maulavi's attached to Muslim Mosques who had received an Arms training at a Training Camp in Nuwar Eliya with Chief Bomb suspect of the Easter Sunday Bomb Attacks and the leader of banned Extremist group National Thowheed Jamaath Organization Mohommad Zahran Hashim .
Accordingly TID Officials have arrested 29 year old Mohommad Nazaar Mohommad Nimsad attached to Nikawaratiya Jumma Masjid Mosque and 28 year old Mohommad Hanifa Mohommad Rizvi attached to Hettipola Jumma Masjid Mosque accordance to an information received by the TID .
TID Officials are conducting further investigations over the suspects .
