TID Officials Have Arrested Two Muslim Maulavi's
Terrorist Investigations Division (TID) officers had today (20) arrested two Maulavi's attached to Muslim Mosques who had received an Arms training at a Training Camp in Nuwar Eliya with Chief Bomb suspect of the Easter Sunday Bomb Attacks and the leader of banned Extremist group National Thowheed Jamaath Organization Mohommad Zahran Hashim .
Accordingly TID Officials have arrested 29 year old Mohommad Nazaar Mohommad Nimsad attached to Nikawaratiya Jumma Masjid Mosque and 28 year old Mohommad Hanifa Mohommad Rizvi attached to Hettipola Jumma Masjid Mosque accordance to an information received by the TID .
TID Officials are conducting further investigations over the suspects .

US Ambassador Says USA Is Deeply Concerned Of The Appointment Of New Army Commander
The US Ambassador in Sri Lanka Alaina Teplitz has said that the United States Of America is deeply concerned of the Appointment of Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva As the allegations of gross human rights violations against him, documented by the United Nations and other organizations, are serious and credible.
“This appointment undermines Sri Lanka’s international reputation and its commitments to promote justice and accountability, especially at a time when the need for reconciliation and social unity is paramount,” the US Embassy in Colombo said.
Major General Shavendre Silva Has Been Appointed As New Army Commander
Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army Major General Shavendra Silva has been appointed as the 23rd Army Commander of the Sri Lanka Army by President Maithipala Sirisena yesterday (19).
He succeeds outgoing Army Commander Lineament General Mahesh Senanayake who had completed his service extension on last Sunday (18) after working as the Commander for more than two years.
The New Army Commander Silva who had been promoted as Lieutenant General after appointing as Army Commander , had received his appointment letter yesterday from President at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo .
He had a 35 year old Army career since joining the Army in 1984 .He is an old boy of Saint Thomas Collage Mount Lavinia and received his Military training at Sri Lanka Military Academy .
