A Buddhist Monk Was Passed Away After Colliding With A Cab

A 36 year old Buddhist Monk had
passed away after colliding with an Army Cab near welioya Junction at Anuradhapura -Madawachchiya road today(11).

The critically injured Buddhist Monk had passed away when admitting to the Anuradhapura General Hospjral.He was attached to a temple in Pandukabhya area and the can was travelling towards Jaffna it has been revealed

Madawachchiya Polie have arreSted  the Cab driver over the incident.

Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakshe Appointed As The New Leader Of The Podujana Peramuna Party- He Has Named His Younger Brother As Presidential Candidate


Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakshe has been appointed as the leader of the newly formed "Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna(Sri Lanka Progressive Front ) during it's first national convention held this evening (11) at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo .

The former Defense Secretary was named as the Presidential Candidate at a time when a question had arisen whether he had removed his US citizenship as Dual Citizens are not allowed to contest local elections and there's two fraud cases against him  currently  in Courts. 

An Indian Female Was Arrested With 1.250 Kilo Grammes Of Cocaine


arrested සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලOfficers attached to Narcotic Control Unit of the Airport Customs  have today (11) arrested a 37 year old Indian Female with 1.250 Kilo Grammes of Cocaine in possession at the arrival lounge of Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport .

The suspected female who had arrived in from India had hidden the haul of Cocaine wrapped in few polythene bags inside the bottom of  her  luggage it has been revealed .

The estimated value of the stock of Cocaine taken in to custody is around Rs.10.87 million according to Customs.
