A Person Was Arrested With A Suspicious Parcel At Central Mail Exchange

Customs Officers have arrested a 27
year old person who had arrived in Central Mail Exchange this evening (30)to collect a parcel he had received from Portugal containing 3050 tablets of powerful Narcotic "Ecstacy " .The parcel had addressed the suspect who is a resident of Layard Broadway, Colombo -14

The Narcotic Tablets were stored inside of  a Toy box and the stock is worth around Rs.10.5 million  it has been revealed.

Customs officers also taken in to custody the suspicious parcel and conducting investigations on the incident.  

Brother In Law Of The Chief Suspect Of Easter Sunday Attacks Mohommad Zahran Arrested

Crimes Division  (CCD)have arrested the brother in law of The chief suspect of the Easter Sunday Bomb attacks  and National Thowheed Jamaath leader Mohommad Zahran Hashim at KakunagoLla ,Katupotha area last night  (29)over the Easter Sunday attacks.

The 28 year old suspect Mohommadu Abdul Carder had received arms training with Zahran at Nuwara Eliya Training camp according to the Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare.

He is the eldest brother of Zahran's wife Media Spokesman has revealed.

Colombo Crimes Division are conducting further investigations over the incident. 

Justice Minister Thalatha Atukorale Had Submitted A Cabinet Proposal To Ban The "Burka "

Thalatha Atukorale has today (30)submitted a proposal to ban The traditional Muslim face covering "Burka "which was earlier banned by president  Maithripala Sirisena under the state of Emergancy regulations, for the cabinet approval .

The aim of the proposal is to ban the face covering "Burka " through a Parliamentary act completely in Sri Lanka it has been revealed .

However after submitting the proposal to the Cabinet Minister of Higher Education Rauf Hakeem has requested more time to study the proposal .Therefore Cabinet has given a week's  time to study the proposal .

Although All faCe coverings including "Burka " and "Nijaab "have been banned by the president under the state of Emergancy regulations, If the regulations are withdrawn the ban too will be automatically lifted according to reports.
