Thalatha Atukorale has today (30)submitted a proposal to ban The traditional Muslim face covering "Burka "which was earlier banned by president Maithripala Sirisena under the state of Emergancy regulations, for the cabinet approval .
The aim of the proposal is to ban the face covering "Burka " through a Parliamentary act completely in Sri Lanka it has been revealed .
However after submitting the proposal to the Cabinet Minister of Higher Education Rauf Hakeem has requested more time to study the proposal .Therefore Cabinet has given a week's time to study the proposal .
Although All faCe coverings including "Burka " and "Nijaab "have been banned by the president under the state of Emergancy regulations, If the regulations are withdrawn the ban too will be automatically lifted according to reports.
