Central Bank Extended The Ban Imposed On Perpetual Treasuries

Central Bank has extended the ban
imposed on a primary seller of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited for carrying out Business matters and Activities for another siX months with effective from 4.30 p.m yesterday  (05) it has been announced.

The ban was extended in view of continueing the investigations against Perpetual Treasuries Limited which involved in Central Bank Bond Scam. 

Four Estate Managers Had Been Injured Due To An Assault -16 Estate Workers Had Been Arrested

Four Eatate Managers attached to the
Bloomfield Estate in Kotmale had been injured and hospitalized after being attacked by a group of Estate Workers in the Estate last night (05)over a EPF (Employees provident fund )and ETF (Employees Trust Fund (ETF) issue .

The injured Estate Managers had been admitted to the Gampola base Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred as the Managers had not taken steps to provide
 EPF and ETF of the workers  properly .The workers had protested against it last noon and as there's no response they had attacked the Managers and damaged properties  .

Police have arrested 16 Workers over the incident and they are due to be produced before the Nawalapitiya Court.

Chilaw Based Businessman Caused Disharmony Among Nationals Through A FB Post Has Been Further Remanded

Manjula Thilakaratne had yesterday  (05)ordered to further  Remand The 35 year old Chilaw based Businessman Abdul Hameed Mohommad Haswer who is in remand over Publishing a Facebook post caused disharmony among Nationals, until 19th of July .

The suspect who has been remanded after being arrested uner the Terrorism Prevention Act and Emergancy Regulations was refused to grant bail by the court when the lawyer of the suspect  had requested the court to grant bail.

Court refused to grant him bail as the Chilaw Police informed the Court that charges against the suspect will be produced in near future based on the investigations carried out by Police legal Division.


Fort Magistrate Granted Permission To CID TO Question IGP Pujith Jayasundara

Dissanayake had yesterday  (05)granted permission to Criminal Investigations Department (CID)  to record a statement from Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Pujith Jatasundara who has been remanded over not preventing or minimise the damage of Easter Sunday Attacks ,over a complaint made against IGP by A lift operator of the Police Headquarters AmaraKoon Banda  long time ago over criminally forced and harassed him .

The incident occurred at Police Headquarters and CID Officers had informed the progress of the ongoing investigations to the Court yesterday.

CID had already questioned the personal security guards of the IGP Jayasundara who is also on Compulsory leave over Easter Sunday attacks .CID Had also requested the Magistrate to release the CCTV footages of the incident to them regarding lift operator s incident and Magistrate has ordered the officials to do so .

Court also ordered the CID to inform the progress of the investigations on 04th September.

IGP Jayasundara is currently receiving treatment at Police Hospital in Narahenpita under the detention of Prison Officers.


Navy Recovered A Coral Reef From Kankasanthurai Sea Area

A Team of Navy divers attached to Northern  Naval Command had recovered a new coral reef located in the  sea area of Kankasanthurai Harbour premises it has been reported .
The new Coral reef is attractive and located in a sea area of around 400
meters .It was recovered during the search Misson carried out by the Navy divers during last week in Kankasanthurai sea according to reports .
