Attorney General Had Instructed The Acting IGP To Arrest Those Responsible For Avent-Garde Floating Armoury

Attorney General Dappula De Livera
had instructed the Acting Inspector General Of Police (IGP)Chandana Wikramaratna to arrest the owner of Avent-Garde Company which maintained a floating armoury in Sri Lankas sea during previous regime ,Commander Nissanka Senadhipathi and Retired Cimmadore  Vishwajith Nandana  Diyabalanage over the floating Armoury issue   .

Accordingly Acting IGP Chandana Wikramaratna had instructed the Criminal Investigations Department  (CID )to implement the Attorney General's order .

However When CID had attemptrd to arrest the accused Both Commander Senadhipathi and Retired commodore had suddenly  left for Singapore last morning (04)it has been revealed. They had left singapore at the time that  Supreme Court had taken up the human rights petition filed  by them at the court requesting to prevent arresting them ,taken up for hearing .

Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe whose name also linked to the  Avant-Garde case is also currently being in Singapore receiving teatment.

A French National Was Arrested With A Gold Biscuit Hidden In A Biscuit Pack

Airport Customs officers have arrested
a 48 year old French National who had attempted to smuggle a Gold Biscuit weighing one Kilo Gramme hidden inside a Biscuit pack at the Katunayake Airport  last  evening  (04).

The suspect who had arrived Katunayake Airport  from France via Oman had been arrested whilst attempting to leave the Airport through Green channel it has been revealed.The Estimated value of the Gold Biscuit taken in to custody in possesion of the suspect   is around Rs. 8 million according to the customs . 

Railway Trade Unions Called Off The Strike

Railway Trade Unions have called off
their  Island wide Continuous Strike action launched since Midnight last night (03) ,This evening (04)after talks held with Transport Minister Arjuna Ranathunge.

More than 85 Railway Trade Unions had launched the strike by demanding to stop Transport Ministry Secretary influencing  the General Manager Dilantha Fernando to re-inState a Railway Employee who was interdicted over working under the influence of liquor.

The Railway Strike had called off after Transport Ministry Authorities had  to stop influencing the General Manager over the matter it had been revealed.

Due to the Railway Strike Commuters have faced enormous difficulties it has been reported .
