Railway Trade Unions Called Off The Strike

Railway Trade Unions have called off

their  Island wide Continuous Strike action launched since Midnight last night (03) ,This evening (04)after talks held with Transport Minister Arjuna Ranathunge.

More than 85 Railway Trade Unions had launched the strike by demanding to stop Transport Ministry Secretary influencing  the General Manager Dilantha Fernando to re-inState a Railway Employee who was interdicted over working under the influence of liquor.

The Railway Strike had called off after Transport Ministry Authorities had  to stop influencing the General Manager over the matter it had been revealed.

Due to the Railway Strike Commuters have faced enormous difficulties it has been reported .

A Member Of Thowheeth Jamaath Terrrorist Group Was Arrested At The Airport

A group of Police officers attached to

Terrorism Investigations Division (TID) have arrested a member of National Thowheeth Jamaath Terrorist Organization  which carried out the Easter Sunday attacks ,whilst attempting to leave Japan at the Katunayake, International Airport  it has been reported .

The suspect Ansar Mohommad residing in Mawanalla area had been identified as participating the lectures of the Training camp organized by Thowheeth Jamaath Organization at Nuwara Eliya prior to the attacks.

He has hidden after the attacks and arrested at the Airport whilst attempting to leave the country according to Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare.

Train Services In The Island Completely Paralysed Due To The Railway Strike

As Railway employees belonging to all

categories had launched an Island Wide Continuous Strike since midnight last night (03)Train services are being completely paralysed it has been reported .

Commuters including office goers and School children are being mostly affected due to this sudden trade union action launched  by more than 85 Railway  trade unions .
