Attorney General Ordered Acting IGP TO Take Diciplimary Action Against Nine Higher Police Officers Over Not Preventing Easter Sunday Attacks

Attorney General Dappula De Livera
had ordered the Acting Inspector General Of Police (IGP)Chandana Wikramaratna to take a disciplinary action and conduct an inquiry over neglecting duties against Nine Higher Police officers including Three Deputy Inspector General's Of Police (DIG)over not preventing the Easter sunday attacks or minimised the effects of the attacks .

In a letter sent to the Acting IGP   Attorney General Had   ordered   a disciplinary action against those Police officers as well as conduct a crime  inquiry against them as recommended by the Vijitha Malalgoda committee appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena to probe on the Easter attacks .

Accordingly  nine Higher Police officers including Three DIG's in charge in Colombo ,North Western Province and Special Security Division and six SP's (Superintendent of Police ),ASP's (Assistant Superintendent Of Police )And OIC's had been subjected to disciplinary action .

The copies  of the letter sent to Acting IGP By Attorney General Had been forwarded to President's Secretary and Police Commission Chairman it has been revealed.

The report of Vijitha Malalgoda committee regarding Easter Sunday attacks had handed over to the president recently.

The Attorney General's order has been sent at the time the Parliamentary Select Committee probing Easter Sunday attacks proceeds it's inquiry .During the recent meetings of the Committee several officers given evidence before the committee had stressed they have informed president regarding the possible Easter Sunday attacks prior to the attacks .


A Tense Situation Occurred In Colombo Fort And Maradana Railway Stations Prior To Railway Strike

A tense situation occurred at Colombo
Fort and Maradana Railway stations this evening  (20)as the commuters had shouted and protested against cancellation of several train journey's prior to the scheduled two day island wide Railway Strike to be launched from.midnight tonight  (20).

Five categories of Railway employees namely Engine Drivers ,Station Masters, Guides ,Controllers and Inspection Manager s have decided to launch a two day strike from midnight tonight demanding to implement the Cabinet Paper removing their salary anomalies .

Railway Employees have earlier decided to launch the two day strike from midnight yesterday  (19)however delayed that from 24 hours until 2p.m today due to the talks held with authorities regarding their demand.

As talks failed Railway unions have decided to continue with the strike it had been reported.

Meanwhile due to the tense situation occurred in Colombo Fort and Maradana Railway stations this evening Gates of Fort Railway station had closed and Army and special Police Task Force Personal have been deployed to provide security .

CID TO Conduct Tests Of Females Complaint On Illegal Sterilisation In Castle Street And De Zoysa Maternity Hospitals

Criminal Investigations Department 
(CID )has decided to conduct tests of Mothers who had complained against a Senior House officer attached to the Kurunagala Teaching Hospital Dr.Seigu Siyabdeen Mohommad Safi over illegal sterilization, at Castle Street and De Soyza Maternity Hospitals in Colombo .

Kurunagala Magistrate Court has ordered the Health Ministry Secretary Wasantha Perera to provide facilities in those Hospitals to perform these tests .

CID Had so far recorded sratements from around 758 persons regarding the the complaints on illegal sterilisation .

Two Former Muslim Ministers Had Sworn In Their Previous Portfolios

Two Former Muslim Ministers who had
resigned from their Ministerial Portfolios along with 07 other Muslim Ministers on 03rd of June, Kabir Hashim and M.H.A.Haleem had sworn in their previous Ministerial  Portfolios before President Maithripala Sirisena today (19).

Accordingly Kabir Hashim had sworn in as Minister of Road Development ,Petroleum Resources and M.H.A Haleem sworn in as Minister of Postal services and Muslim Affairs .

Four Muslim Cabinet Ministers ,04 state Ministers and a Deputy Minister Had resigned from their Portfolios on 03rd of June over charges levelled against some Muslim politicians.

They have demanded the government  to hold an impartial inquiry on the charges levelled against some of them withing one month period.
