Three Students Had Been Killed And One Was Croitically Injured Due To Careles Driving Of A Retired Army Soldier

Image result for accidentThree Students of the ages 14,15 and 16 years  had been killed and another student had been crirically injured and hospitalized after a Cab driven by a retired Army Soldier running over them near the  Korosagalla Junction in Anuradhapura -Kekirawa main road around 7.30 a.m  today (08).

The four critically injured students had been admitted to Kekirawa Provincial Hospital where three of them had succumbed to their injuries after admitting to hospital. The other critically injured student had been transferred to Dambulla Hospital for further treatment it has been reported.

The angry residents of the area had closed the A-9 Road and protested on the road demanding police to arrest the Cab driver and bring him along with the cab there .Although Police have attempted to disperse the protest the residents have strictly decided not to giving up the protest until the cab driver arrested.

Afterwards Ipalogama Police have chased the Cab which had been driven continuously and arrested the Cab driver at Ipalogama,Ranajayapura area.

The 54 year old suspect who had been transported Vegetables and Bananas from his cab from  Dambulla to Anuradhapura had told the Police that he had fallen a sleep whist driving  at the time of the accident in Kekirawa..However he had fled away from the area after the incident with three others in the cab.

The three deceased students were  residents of Korosagalla area and had awaited for a Bus near the road to attend a tuition class  when they met with the accident .

Residents  of the area have accused the traffic police officers who were in the road near the accident site for not taking any step to arrest the suspected driver after the incident.


An Extra Ordinary Gazette Notification Issued Over Resignation Of All Muslim Ministers

.R.Seneviratne had issued an extra ordinary Gazette Notification yesterday  (07)announcing the resignation of Nine Muslim Cabinet, State and Deputy Minister's from the government.

Accordance to the Gazette Notification resignation of 08  Cabinet ,State and Deputy Minister's including Rauf Hakeem, Rishad Baduideen ,Abdul Haleem and Faizal Qasim  come in to effect from 03 Rd of June and the resignation of Minister Kabir Hashim come in to  effect from 04th of June .
The Head of the State Intelligence Information Unit Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG)Sisira Mendis had resigned from his post this noon citing personal health problems .

DIG Mendis who was the former head of of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID)and in charge of  Terrorism Investigations Division (TID (during 2008-2009 had resigned from his post with effective from 01St of June

He had given a statement regarding the Easter Sunday Attacks before the Parliamentary Select Committee Probing Easter Sunday attacks on 29th of May .He has told the Committee that the National Security council didn't meet to discuss the threat on Easter Sunday Attacks although he has informed the highest authority regarding
