Fifty Nine Suspects Including Nine Females Had Been Arrested Over Easter Sunday Bombings

Fifty nine suspects had been so far
arrested over the Easter Sunday bombings and currently being questioned  at Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and Terrorism Investigations Division (TID)according to Police Media Spokesman Superintendent Of Police (SP)Ruwan Gunasekare.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo this evening (29)Police Media spokesman has stated that 44 out of the 59 suspects including 07 females are being questioned in CID and 15 suspects including 02 females are being questioned at TID.

CID had arrested most wanted female suspect of the Easter Sunday Bombings Fathima Lathifa who is the wife of one of the Easter sunday bombers at Mawanella during the weekend he has stressed.

A Lawyer Filed A Petition At Supreme Court Against Government Over Not Avoiding The Easter Sunday Bombings

Kodithuwakku who is under three year career ban has today (29)filed a Petition at Supreme Court in hulftsdorf ,Colombo by claiming Government has violated peoples Humanatarian rights through not avoiding the Easter Sunday bombings occurred in Colombo and Batticaloa although an intelligence unit report  received prior to the attacks.

In his petition Attorney At Law Kodithuwakku has named President Maithripala Sirisena ,Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasimghe ,Former Defense Secrerary Hemasiri  Fernando ,Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapalshe and director of the Tellecomunication Regulatory commission as the respondents of the case.

The petitioner has requested the Supreme Court to issue a warrent ordering the government to pay compansations to those who were killed and injured due to the bombings
.
He has  argued that the government can be punished under the penal code over not taking any action to prevent the Bombings .

Five Anti Aircraft Cartrdges And A Detornator Recovered From Welipanna

Police have recovered 05  eight inch
long Anti Aircraft Cartridges and a detonator at a Muslim Village in "Ramaya  "road ,Welipanna this morning   (29).

Special Police Task Force (STF) personal have defused the Anti Aircraft cartridges believes to be left there by someone.No one was arrested regarding the incident. 

These Carbridges  and Deternator had been recovered accordance to the information received by an Intelligence official in Western Province.

Two Persons Attached To Extremist Group "Thawheeth Jamaath"Arrested In Armour Street

Two members of the Extremist Group
"National Thowheeth Jamaath" had been arrested with Five Foreign Passports ,12 Mobile Phones ,A stock of CD's containing ideologies of "Thawheeth Jamaath"group and other equipment in possession at a Flat in Armour street ,Colombo today (29)by the Armour Street police.

Police have also taken in to custody a Tab computer in possession of the suspects.The five passports recovered in possession of the suspects are belonging to two females and three males according to Police.

The raid had been carried out accordance to information received  by the police  regarding the suspects from the people in the area.

The chief suspect of the Easter Sunday bombings Mohommad Zahran Hashim had visited the flat where the suspects have  stayed in  few weeks ago it has been revealed
