The Area Where A Leopard Killed A Man In Kumana Park Has Been Declared As A Banned Zone For Tourists

Wild Life Department has made the area in Kumana National Park where a person was killed due to a leopard attack and other places in the park where leopards are as temporary banned zones for tourists .

This decision  has been taken after the killing of a 48 year old laborer by a leopard at kiripokuna area on Babure-Bambaragasthalawa road near the Kumana Park last evening(18).

Earlier it has been reported that  the deceased who has died due to heavy bleeding after being bitten by the  leopard was a tractor driver.

The deceased has been identified as a 48 year old resident of Pothuvil area worked as a laborer in Kumana Park.

Another person who is a jeep driver accompanied the  wild life officers to the scene had been attacked by the same leopard whilst he has photographing the leopard and admitted to Pothuvil hospital with critical injuries it has been revealed.Later he had been transferred to Ampara General Hospital for further treatment .

Doctors have performed few Surgeries  on him .

Meanwhile Wild life department has ordered an inquiry over the incident.
