Ministry Of Health To Distribute 138 "Ford" And "Benz" Ambulances Amongst Hospitals

Ministry Of Health is scheduled to be
distributed 138 Modern "Ford' and 'Benz" Ambulances among Government Hospitals tomorrow morning (11)at Colombo Municipal Council  Grounds under the patronage of Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne .
Accordingly 118 "Ford" Ambulances and 20 "Benz"Ambulances are scheduled to be distributed amongst selected  hospitals .

In an earlier occasion 152   "Ford" and "Benz" Ambulances have been distributed among Government Hospitals .  Altogether around 450 Modern Ambulances are due to be distributed amongst Government Hospitals according to the Ministry .

A Lorry Driver Received Minor Injuries Due To An Accident In Southern Expressway

A Lorry driver had received minor
injuries after the Lorry he had driven transporting Liquid Milk from Matara to Didangoda in Southern Expressway crashed in to the security fence of the Southern Expressway and toppled over the road today(10).

Due to the incident road between Galanigama to Dodangida in Southern Expressway had been closed down around half snd hour for traffic  it has been revealed.

The incident occurred as a wheel of the rare part of Lorry had exploded and crashed in to the security fence of Southern Expressway .

Some Government Hospital Workers Are Involved In Narcotic Trade-Patients Rights Group

National Organization for the
protection of Patients rights has claimed that some workers attached to Colombo National and Ragama Teaching Hospitals are being involved in distributing narcotic drugs .

The best example for this was the  arresting of a minor staff worker attached to Colombo National Hospital with 860 Mili Grammes of narcotics in his possession by the Maradana Police recently says the secretary of the Organization Dammika Edirisinghe.

How can these workers provide their service to the patients whilst involving  in narcotic trade he has questioned .

When government is attempting to introduce A Global Health insurance policy for the Sri Lankan people ,Some Government Hospital   workers are trying to provide global narcotic cover for  the   people he has stressed.

All Ceylon Private Bus Union Has Launched A Bus Strike

ALL Ceylon Private Bus Workers Union
has launched an Island wide Bus strike with effect from  midnight tonight (09) to oppose the new fines implemented by the government against traffic offences .

However the largest private Bus union in the country Ceylon Private  Bus Owners Association has announced that the Association  will not supporting  the strike action.

Several other Private Bus Unions as well as Ceylon Bus Passangers Union have strongly opposed the strike it has been reported.
