A Person Was Arrested With Rs.75,000 Worth Foreign Currency Notes

A 51 Year old person had been arrested with a stock of fake Sri Lankan currency notes worth
around Rs.75,000 at Tangalle Town today(04) by the Police  officers attached To Tangalle Anti Corruption Unit 

Police have taken into  custody  10 fake Rs.5000 currency notes and  50 fake Rs.500 notes The suspect is a resident of Kaduriupokuna in Tangolle area and due to e produced before court .

CID Has Questioned Former Navy Commander For Around Eight Hours

Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has today (04) questioned former Navy Commander
Admiral Wasantha Karammagoda for sound eight hours over an allegations leveled against him on abducting and disappearing eleven  youth in Colombo suburbs in 2008 at CID Headquarters in Colombo. 

This was the third time that the former Navy Commander Karannagoda had been questioned over the allegations .He has recently obtained a court order preventing arresting  him  .

Lanka SATHOSA To Reduce Prices Of 200 Essential Commodities From Today (04)

State Owned Lanka Sathosa (Corporation Wholesale Establishment ) has today (04) announced that  it will reduce the prices of 200 varieties of essential commodities  began from today to mark the forthcoming Sinhala  And Hindu New Year .

Among those essential varieties of goods scheduled to be reduced by Lanka Sathosa are A Kilo of  Local Samba Rice from Rs.88 to Rs.84 ,A Kilo of Raddish Rice from Rs.59 to Rs.57 ,A Kilo Of White Rice from Rs. 70 to Rs.67 ,A Tin of Canned Fish from Rs.200 to Rs.195 ,A Kilo of Big Anions from Rs.79 to Rs.75 and A Kilo of white sugar from Rs.99 to Rs.97 .

Treasury has provided necessary financial assistance to Sathosa to facilitate price reductions of these essential commodities it has been revealed.

Another Five Suspects Arrested Along With Makandure Madush Had Expelled To Sri Lanka From Dubai--CID Arrested Them On Their Arrival

Another five persons including Tele Drama Actor Ryan Van Rooyen  arrested with Sri Lankan
Drug Kingpin Makandure Madush in Dubai by the Dubai Police  last February ,Had been released from Jail and Expelled to Sri Lanka last night (03) by the Dubai Authorities .

The suspects who had arrived in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport in wee hours of this morning (04) had been arrested for questioning by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) up on their arrival .

Among those expelled to Sri Lanka by Dubai Authorities are Dimuthu Suranga  Perera (25),Suraj Kavinda De Silva (28),,Kodikara Arachchige  Charitha Pathman (40) and Mohommad Wasimdean (22) residents of Kolonnawa,Dehiwala,Seeduwa and Kamburupitiya areas .

Meanwhile Special Investigations Unit of the Mirihana Police too began questioning Actor Ryan Van Rooyen over his involvement in Rs.7000 million worth Stolen Diamond and Gems issue .

Meanwhile a Suspect Lanka Sajith Perera who was expelled with singer Nadeemal Perera from Dubai and  taken under the Police Custody  recently had been released on bail after producing  before Mathara Magistrate Court today (04).
