Police Have Closed Down Ward Place Due To A Students Protest

Police have closed down the Ward Place in Colombo-07 in front of the University Grants
Commission building  this noon (21) due to a University students protest march organized by Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) this noon .

A heavy traffic had been experienced in many roads in and around Town Hall area for  hours due to the Protest march it has been revealed.

The protest march which began from Institute of Aesthetic studies in Colombo  was  conducted by the students of Ruhuna University by demanding solutions for several of their demands .

The protest march marched towards the Ward place .

Eight Passengers Had Been Injured Due To Bus Collision

Eight Bus passengers had been injured and hospitalized after Two Private Buses they were
travelling in colliding with each other  near a Anuradhapura-Nochchiyagama farm at Puttalam-Anuradhapura A-12  main Road  today (21) 


The injured including a female and a child had been admitted to Anuradhapura General (03) and Nochchicyagama(05)  Hospitals .

The incident occurred as a result of not being  able to control  at   high speed of  one of the buses travelling from Colombo to Mannar it has been revealed.The injured are residents of Rajanganaya,Saliyawewa  and Thalawa areas .

Police have arrested the driver of the Bus which unable to control the speed in connection of the accident .

A Person Was Arrested With Illegally Imported Japanese Jeep

Police officers attached to Anti
corruption Unit of Walana have yesterday (20)arrested a 38 year old person who had stolen a Toyota V-8 Jeep from Japan and illegally imported it to Sri Lanka at Wewelduwa in Kelaniya.

The Sphare parts of the Jeep had been illegally imported to Sri Lanka from Japan and they were assembled here by the suspect it has been revealed.

The Jeep was also taken in to custody by the police.

The market value of the Jeep is around Rs.40 million and it was not registered at the Motor Car Drpartment according to police.

The suspect who is a resident of Thambigasmulla in Kiribathgoda is due to be produced before the Mahara Magistrate court .
