A Large Area In Sapugoda Mountain Reserve Had Been Destroyed Due To A Sudden Fire

Around 20 acres of land belonging to Sapugoda Mountain Reserve in Wellawaya Divisional
Secretariat had been destroyed due to a huge fire erupted in the reserve this noon (16).

The fire is currently spreading rapidly due to the strong winds and dry weather conditions prevailing in the area at present according to sources.Police along with villagers of the area and  Sri Lanka Army officers are attempting to douse the fire.

Authorities believes that a group of persons might have lit the fire ..Wellawaya Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

Three Persons Injured Due To A Road Accident In Hatton

Three persons including a female had been injured and hospitalized after the Three Wheeler
they were travelling in veering off the road and toppled over to a nearby canal in Norwwod,Hatton this morning (16).

The injured had been admitted to Dikoya Base Hospital for treatment .

The injured who are residents of Welimada area have faced this incident whilst returning from Sripadha pilgrimage it has been revealed.The incident occurred as a result of the driver fallen a sleep whilst on a wheel according to Norwood Police.

A Chinese Female And Male Were Arrested With 218 Liters Of Illicit Liquor

Colpetty Police have arrested a 31 year old Chinese Female and a male  with 218 liters of illicit liquor in possession  at a house in Glen Harbor ,Galle Road,Colpetty 
 yesterday (15).

The suspected Chinese female is staying in Sri Lanka illegally without valid visa documents it has been revealed.

Police have taken into custody around 50 Cans containing illicit liqour known as "Cheena Kasippu) in possession of the suspects.

They  are  due to be produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate today (16).
