Maharagama "Apeksha" Hospital To Perform "Allogeneic " Bone Marrow Transplants (Performing By Using Donor Blood Cells) From This Year

Maharagama "APEKSHA " Hospital is planning  to perform "Allogeneic "Bone marrow Transplant ( Bone Marrow Transplant performs by using  healthy blood-forming cells donated by someone else.) from this year according to the senior Oncologist Dr.Prasad Abeysinghe .

The Saint Vincent Hospital at Sydney ,Australia has provide the facilities to "Apeksha "Hospital in this regard by training 04 Consultants ,05 Doctors,05 Nurses and 02 MLT's on "Allogeneic" Bone Marrow Transplants Dr.Abeysinghe has stressed.

During a special meeting held at the Ministry of Health regarding performing "Allogeneic" Transplants in "Apeksha " Hospital recently under the patronage of Health Minister Dr.Rajitah Senaratne ,Doctors have requested the Health Authorities  to increase the number of rooms allocated for residing those who are due to undergo Bone Marrow Transplants from 02 rooms to 08 rooms .

"Apekhsa "Hospital is currently performing "Autologous" Bone Marrow Transplants(Transplanting  patient's own  blood-forming  cells collected, frozen and stored) according to reports.

A Group Of Lawyers Left For Dubai To Appear Behalf Of Drug Offenders

Lankan Law firm had left for Dubai to appear behalf of the Drug kingpin Makandure Madush and  his aides numbering 31 during a court hearing against them at Dubai it had been revealed.

Among those Lawyers who had left are some famous names  according to reports .However there's a doubt over whether these lawyers will be able to represent behalf of drug offenders or not  as the law in Dubai is different then the law in Sri Lanka

Meanwhile although it has been reported earlier that the arrested suspects are due to be produced before Dubai Court today  (10) Police have recorded the statements from the suspects including Madush only today regarding their involvement in using narcotics at a party held in Dubai Hotel .
Around 3.20 Kilo Grammes of narcotics imcluding Cocaine ,Heroin and Cannabis had been taken in to custody in possession of the suspects arrested  last Monday  (04)by the Dubai Police during a birthday party hosted by Sri Lanka's most wanted drug kingpin Madush behalf of a child of his mistress at a six star Hotel.  

A Person Has Died Due To Inhaling A Toxic Smoke

A 60 year old person has died and his

wife and a maid had been hospitalized after inhaling a toxic smoke  at a lodge in Idalgashinna area ,Haputhale this morning  (10) it has been reported.

The deceased who was a lodge owner had faced this incident whlist  roasting  meat in a barbecue Oven for a group of tourists according to reports .

The two females had been admitted to Diyathalawa Base Hospital with breathing problems it has been revealed .

Police have suspected the smoke released from a barbecue Oven inside a room of the lodge might have caused the incident.

Provincial Council Election To Be Held Before Presidential Election -President

Provincial Council Election  will be

definitely held before the Presidential Election President Maithripala Sirisena has revealed today (09).

"Presidential Election will be held in a scheduled date and no one can forcibly conduct it before the scheduled date he has been stressed whilst addressing a Reconstruction meeting of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP ) held at Polonnaruwa today  (09).

The Provincial Council election will be held after solving the consritutional matters related to the election he has stated.
