Four Persons Arrested With 100 Kilo Grammes Of Chemical Used To Make Explosives And Other Equipment

Investigations Department  (CID) have arrested four persons with around 100 Kilo Grammes of Chemical used to produce Explosives ,100 Deternators and other equipment buried at a Coconut Cultivation land of around 80 acres in Lactowatta area ,Mangala pura, Wanathawilluwa this evening  (17)during a search operation carried out there .

Among the other equipment recovered at the land are a 12 Bore Rifel and am munitions, An Air rifle, Nitrate Acid banned in Sri Lanka it has been revealed .

The variety of the Chemical recovered has not yet been identified.

The four suspects along with the Explosives and equipment  had  been recovered  whilst CID Officers had launched a search operation to arrest a person related to breaking Buddha Statues in some parts of the country it has been revealed .

A Part Of A Thalawathugoda -Hokandara Road Had Sunk

Around Ten feet area on

Thalawathugoda -Hokandara road had suddenly sunk this morning  (17)and as a result transport activities of the sunken  area had been completely stopped .

Police have advised the Motorists to use an alternative routes when travelling.

Due to the Sunken area few other areas nearby had minorly sunk and recieved  cracks it has been revealed.

Authorities believes the part of the road had sunk may be due to recent heavy showers and Heavy Vehicles travelled on the road

Around 80 Students Injured 03 Of Them Critically Due To A Wasp Attack In Ella

Around 80 Students attached to

Sugatha Collage at Ballaketuwa area in Ella Police division  had  been injured three of them critically and hospitalized this morning  (17)due to a Wasp attack it has been revealed.

The injured Students had been admitted to Demodara  Hospital and three critically injured students had been Transferred to Badulla General Hospital for further treatment.

The incident occurred Whilst Students playing rounders (Elle) as a result of the provoking of a Wasp Nest nearby it has been revealed.

A Person Was Arrested With A Large Haul Of Heroin At Kaduwela

A 53 year old Person was arrested by

the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau officials with 5.24 Kilo Grammes of Heroin in his possession at Kotalawala ,Kaduwela (Western Province ) last night (16 ).

The suspect who is a resident of Obeysekarepura ,Rajagiriya and Kotalawala, Kaduwela was arrested whilst transporting the haul of Heroin in a Three Wheeler. The Three Wheeler was also taken in to custody by Police Officers.

The value of the  Haul of Heroin taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is more than Rs. 60 million it had been revealed.

The suspect is due to be produced before Kaduwela Magistrate Court today (17).

Three Persons Including Two Foreign Nationals Had Been Injured Due To A Road Accident

A 58 year old Bahrain National , A 32

year old Romanian Female and a Van driver  had been injured and hospitalized after the Van they were travelling in colliding with a Private Bus on Polonnaruwa -Habarana road last evening  (16).

The injured Stucked  inside the Van had been  removed from it by the villagers of the area and admitted to Polonnaruwa General Hospital it has been revealed.

The incident occurred as a result of the Van driver fallen a sleep whilst on the wheel according to Minneriya Police .
