Six Persons Had Been Arrested Over Excavating An Area Illegally

Police have arrested six persons who had been excavated an area near a house at Moragane ,Narammala (North Western province) in view of finding treasure yesterday  (07).

Police have also taken in to custody the equipment used by the suspects for excavation work.

The suspects who are of the ages 25 to 73 years residing in Gampaha ,Katupotha  and Kadahara areas are due to be produced before the KuliyapitIya Magistrate Court. 

Basic Salary Of Government Employees To Be Increased By Rs.2500- Rs.10,000

The Basic Salary of the Government
employees will be increased by Rs.2500 to Rs.10,000 with effective from this month according to Ministry of Finance. 

Accordingly the Basic Salary of the lowest grade Government Employee will be increased by Rs.2500 and the Highest Grade Officer by Rs.10,000 from this month the Ministry has stressed .

The Rs.10,000 monthly allowance provided  to Government employees since 2015 will be added to their basic salary  within the period 2016-2020 it has been announced .

Speaker Has Accepted MP Mahinda Rajapaksha As Opposition Leader Deputy Speaker Has Announced

Kurunagala District MP and former President Mahinda Rajapakshe as the opposition Leader of the Parliament, The Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri has announced in Parliament today (08).

The announcement has been made during today's Parliamentary sessions convened under the patronage of Deputy Speaker .

However no announcement has been made regarding removing current opposition Leader R.Sambandan of Tamil National Alliance from the post .

Meanwhile Puttalam District United Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA)MP ArundiKa Fernando has today apologized to the house regarding seated in Speaker's seat during the Parliamentary sessions held on 16th of November 2018 when  some UPFA members have behaved similar to Animals .

The MP Has apologized after the governing United National Party (UNP)MP Mujubur Rahman has told the Parliament the house recently seen as a Zoo and Even Ambassadors had applauded may be due to that situation. 

Three Persons Had Been Killed Due To Army Truck -Three Wheeler Collision

Three Persons Had been killed on the
spot after the Three Wheeler they were travelling in colliding with An Army Truck at Iyakkachchi Junction in  Palai area ,KilinochchI  (Northern Province)this evening (08).

The incident occurred as a result of the inability of Three Wheeler Driver to control the high speed of the vehicle according to the Police .

Palai Police have arrested Army Truck driver over the incident .A Tense situation occurred among residents of the area after the accident had been controlled by the Police .

Palai Police are conducting an investigations over the incident .

New "Laggala Green Town " Has Been Inaugurated

The "New Laggala Green Town " with
Modern facilities built nearby the old Laggala Town  at Matale  (Central Province ) submerged and destroyed due to floods,Has been inaugurated by the President Maithripala Sirisena this morning  (08).

The "New Laggala Green Town "  which has been  designed accordance to Garden City  concept   had been built with the cost of Rs.4500 million it has been revealed.

The City is comprising of  26 State Institutions including A Police station ,Post office ,School ,Hotels ,A play ground ,Hospital , 112 Buildings ,3000 Residents and their houses ,Banks, A community center etc .The Building had been built with the cost of Rs.2043 million .

A Waste Management and Disposal system is being implemented in the city with the aid of Peradeniya University .

The new Green Town   will replace the old Laggala  Town  which destroyed due to recent floods occurred as a result of overflowing Kalu Gamga (Rivrer ).

At  the new Town  ,A half an acre land each provided for farmers  to cultivate it has been revealed.

New Green Town is a  benefit of the Moragahakanda-Kalu Ganga(River)Multipurpose Development project.
