A Japanese National And Two Sri Lankan Youth Had Been Admitted To Hospital Due To A Vehicle Collision .

A Japanese National and two Sri Lankan Youth had been admitted to the Galewela District
Hospital after a Motor Car driven by a Tourist Guide transporting  the Japanese National from Colombo to Polonnaruwa had collided with two  lorries ,A Motorcycle and a Three Wheeler parked at a road in Kalahakale ,Galewela area, veering off the road and  toppled over to a nearby canal today(30) according to Galewela Police.

The Japanese National had been admitted to Hospital due to a shock and Two youth in Motorcycle had  been admitted due to injuries  .


The incident occurred due to the inability of the Tourist Guide to control the speed of the Vehicle.


A 11 Year Old Girl Was Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Van Collision

A 11 Year old Girl was killed and her Mother and Father had been injured and hospitalized
after the Motorcycle they were travelling in colliding with a Van near Kottawa City on Kottawa-Horana main road this morning (30) .

The three injured had been admitted to Homagama Base Hospital where the critically injured girl had succumbed to her injuries after admission.The parents of the deceased girl are still receiving treatment at the Hospital according to reports.

Police have arrested the Van driver over the incident .


A Businessman Was Arrested With A Stock Of Illegal Cigarette Cartons Brought To Sri Lanka

Airport Customs Officers have arrested a 40 year old Businessman with 100 Cigarette Cartons
containing 20,000 Cigarette Sticks made in Dubai  in possession at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport last night (29).

The suspect who is a resident of Kochchikade,Negambo had arrived in from Dubai through an Emirates flight and  attempted to leave through "Green Channel" at the time of the arrest it has been revealed.

He has hidden the stock of illegal Cigarette stick cartons worth around Rs.1.1 million  inside his luggage .The suspected Businessman had brought the Cigarette stick cartons to sri lanka to be sold according to Customs.

Customs officers have confiscated the stock of Cigarette Cartons taken in to custody in possession of the suspect and imposed a Rs.100,000 fine on the suspect .
