Over Thousand Sri Lankan University Students In New Delhi Staged A Silent Protest Against President Sirisena's Move To Change Prime Minister

Over 1000 Sri Lankan Students
studying in South Asian University at New Delhi ,India had staged a protest against the President Maithripala Sirisena 's move to remove Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe from his post and appointing the Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe as New Prime Miinister according to "India Tiday" newspaper.

The Protesting students have handed over a letter of protest signed by them against president 's move to the Deputy High Commissioners office of Sri Lanka in New Delhi it has been reported.

The protested studemts had shown banners indicating the Presidents Move is an undemocratic act during the protest .

A Deer Hunter Was Injured And Another Arrested During A Gun Shooting With Police At Udawalawa Sanctuary

A deer hunter was critically injured and hospitalized due to a gun shooting incident between Special Police Task Force Personal and two deer hunters at Udawalawa sanctuary this morning  (31).

The injured who had received gun shot injuries whilest involved in killing innocent deers of the sanctuary for meet had been admitted to Udawalawa Hospital and later transferred to Karapitiya Teaching Hospital for treatment .

Police Task Force Personal have arrested a deer hunter along with few deers killed for meet ,A t-56 firearm ,A magasine and 27 bullets in possession of him at Udawalawa sanctuary according to Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare .

The suspect has been identified as a person who has several court cases against murders and formally attached to Army .

Lawyer Nagananda Kodithuwakku Has Field A Petition At Supreme Court Seeking A Court Order To Cancel The Gazette Prorogueing The Parliament

Kodithuwakku has filed a fundamental rights petition at Supreme Court yesterday  (30)by requesting the court to issue a court order to cancel the illegal extraordinary Gazette Notification issued by President Maithrpala Sirisena on 27 th of November to prorogue the Parliament until 16th of November.

In his Petition Attorney At Law Kodithuwakku has stated that due to the prorogueing of Parliament an unstable  situation has been created in the society.


Speaker Karu Jayasuriya To Discuss With President Regarding Convening Of Parliament

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has yesterday
(30)informed the Party leaders that he will discuss with President Maithripala Sirisena and try to convene the Parliament as soon as possible during the special Party Leaders Meeting held under the patronage of Speaker at Parliamentary complex .

The meeting between speaker and President is likely to take place today it has been revealed.

During the meeting held yesterday with the Speaker ,MP's of United National Party ,Tamil National Alliance,Sri Lanka Muslim Congress and Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) have requested the Speaker to convene the Parliament as soon as possible .

However the leaders representing United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) have informed the speaker that President have appointed the new prime minister and prorogued the parliament according to the Constitution.

Meanwhile newly appointed government spokesman MP Mahinda Samarasinghe of UPFA has told during a media briefing held at Government Information Department yesterday  (30)that speaker had convened the Party leaders meeting unofficially .


A Stock Of Illegal Explosives Had Been Taken In To Custody At A House In Hambanthota

attached to Suriyawewa Base have taken in to custody a stock of Explosives including Detonators ,Ammonium Nitrate and Dynamite in securely and illegally stored at a house in Pahala Andarawewa area, in Hambanthota (Southern Province)yesterday  (30).

Among the stock of Explosives that have taken into custody were 920 Deternators functioning with electricity ,more than 1200 Dynamite pills and 25 Kilo Grammes of Ammonium Nitrate stored in more than 50 Grammes according to sources .

These Explosives had been taken in to custody as per the information received by the Special Police Task Force Personal.
