Two Pakistani Nationals Had Been Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

Two Pakistani Nationals had been
arrested with around 891 Grammes of Heroin in their possession at sea side area  in Colpetty last night (27)by the officers attached to Criminal Investigations Department (CID)and Police Narcotic Bureau .

The estimated value of the haul of Heroin taken in to custody in possession of the two suspects is more than Rs.ten million it has been revealed.

The suspects who are 28 and 36 year old Pakistani Nationals are due to be produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate Court today (28).

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya Had Requested The President To Safeguard The Prevailages Of PM

Parliamentary Speaker Karu Jayasuriya
has  requested the President Maithripala Sirisena through a letter sent to him to protect the privilages entitled to Constitutionally elected Prime Mimister Ranil Wikramasinghe ,Until deciding who will receive the majority support in Parliament due to the political conflict created in the country at present .

Speaker wrote to President after the chairman  of United National Party Kabir Hashim had requested the speaker to safeguard the security and privilages of their premier .

In his letter to president Speaker has stated that he made this request as he is responsible for protecting rights of every Parliamentarian.

Speaker Jayasuriya has also pointed out that by prorogueing  of Parliamentary sessions until 16 th of November a risky enviornment has been created in the country and according to the democratic norms  Parliament should be prorogued with the approval  of Speaker.

An Indian National.Was Arrested With 20 Gold Coins

A 44 year old Indian National had been
arrested whilest attempting to smuggle  20 Gold Coins to China illegally  at Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday (27).

The suspect has hidden the Gold Coins weighing around 160 grammes in his luggage it has been revealed.

The estimated value of the stock of Gold Coins taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.800,000 it has been revealed.

A Wild Elephant Was Killed Due To An Electrocution

A Wild Elephant was killed due to an

  electrocution at Maithreegama in Polonnaruwa last night (26 ).

The deceased Wild Elephant who was around 40 years old had faced this incident after colliding with a power lines putting up to prevent damaging Papaw cultivation in the area it has been revealed .

When Welikanda Police have attempted to arrest a person over putting up power lines ,villagers in the area had prevented it .
