Ceylon Teachers Union To Complain Against Education Minister To Bribery Commission

Ceylon Teachers Union is due to make a
Ycomplaint to the Bribery Commission against Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam tomorrow (16)over allocating millions of Rupees received from Treasury to purchase low quality School Uniform Cloths according to the Union .

Accordingly Teachers Union has charged that the Education Minister was responsible for allocating Rs.2372 million to purchase low quality School uniform Cloths .

A Wild Elephant Responsible For Loss Of Human Lives And Damaging Properties Captured At Welikanda

Wild Life officers attached to
Polonnaruwa Wild Life Office had captured a 35 year old Wild Elephant who was responsible for loss of many  human lives and damaging properties in several villages belonging to Welikanda, Polonnaruwa ,last night at Aselapura ,Welikanda area.

The captured Wild Elephant was handed over to the Wild Elephant Conservation Center at Horowpathana, Anuradhapura today (15 ).

A Large Number Of Goods Had Been Destroyed Due To A Fire Erupted In A Shop

 A large number of Goods had been
destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in a Shop at Main Street in Bandara wela  this morning (15) it has been reported.

The fire which was erupted when the ship owner attempted to open the shop had been doused by the Fire Brigade in Bandarawela along with the Police  before spreading it further . 

The cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.

Thirty Six Persons Had Been Arrested During A Facebook Party Held In Ratnapura Due To A Brawl

Ratnapura Police have arrested 36
persons including 12 young females over a brawl incident occurred at a party organized by a group in Facebook held at a Hotel in Durekanda ,Ratnapura yesterday  (14)along with a stock of narcotics .

The brawl occurred between the participants of the party and residents of the area .

Police officers have taken in to custody 530 Mili Grammes of Ice Narcotic, 04 Grammes of Cannabis and 04 toxic Narcotic Tablets in possession of two of the suspects that were arrested due to a brawl.

Except the two suspects arrested with narcotics ,a 26 year old resident of Kalutara and 24 year old resident of Wattala ,other 34 suspects arrested due to the brawl had been released on Police bail .

Ratnapura Police is due to produce the two suspects arrested with narcotics to Ratnapura Magistrate Court .
