A Section Of The Nawalapitiya Main Road Has Been Inundated Around One Hour Due To Heavy Showers


Due to the heavy showers prevailing in  around 300 meter area of the Nawalapitiya main road was under flood waters for around one hour period  this evening (29 ) it has been reported.

Due to the risen water level shops of the city have been closed and transport activities have been also disrupted due to the situation according to the  reports .

As the drainage system of the Nawalapitiya Main road has been blocked flood waters receeding slowly and after the water receded the shops have been reopened and Transport activities have been resumed sources said.


AKuruna Town In Kandy District Is Being Completely Inundated Due To Heavy Showers

AKuruna Town in Kandy District is
being completely inundated at the moment due to the continuous heavy showers prevailing in Kandy District  according to the sources.

Due to this situation people in AKuruna Town is being faced severe difficulties it has been reported.Water level in the town is up by several feets this evening (29) following the heavy showers prevailing in since this morning . Flood waters of the town  not receeding  due to the continuous showers it has been revealed.

Meanwhile due to the heavy showers transport activities in Kandy -Jaffna A-9 road have been disrupted .

Due to the disturbance growing In atmosphere around Sri Lanka heavy showers can be expected in many areas in the country authorities have said.

Department of Meteorology has advised the fisheries and Naval communities to be vigilant over the adverse weather .

A Person Had Jumped In To The Sea At Kalutara

A 37 year old person had jumped in to
the sea near the Southern Kalutara Train station and dissappeared yes
yedrday it has been reported .

Sri Lankan Navy divers along with Southern Kalutara Police officers had launched a search mission to find about the missing .

The missing person.is a resident of Alawwa area.

Cause of the incident has not yet been  revealed.

Seven Females Attached to A Dambulla Company Had Fallen Sick Due To A Food Poisoning

Seven females attached to a Spices Manufacturing Company at Pannampitiya ,Dambulla had suddenly  fallen sick after consuming their morning meal this morning (29).

The sicken females have been admitted to Lenadora Provincial Hospital for treatment.

Their Condition is not critical it has been revealed.

Authorities believe that this incident occurred as a result of food poisoning.
