A Wild Elephant Fallen Into A Well Had Been Saved After A Long Mission

Wild Life officers have saved the life of
a Wild Elephant who had fallen in to a Agri Well at Kandalama,Sigiriya after a mission which had taken more than 30 hours ,today (13)and released him to the forest.

Earlier the Wild Life officers at Sigiriya had attempted to taken out the Wild Elephant  whose one eye is blind  from the well by using Backo Machines, However it fails and with the assistance of Wild Life officers in surrounding areas including Bakamuna and Minneriya and residents of the area the Elephant had been taken out from the well today by using ropes.

One leg of the Wild Elephant was stucked in mud when the mission began .

After treating several gun shot injuries of  His body the Elephant had been released to the forest.

President Informed Cabinet Ministers That Court Cases Should Be Filed Against Defense Forces Chiefs Who Had Charges Without Harrasing Them

President Maithripala Sirisena has
today (13)informed  the Cabinet members that if there are charges against chiefs of Defence Forces court cases should be filed against them without Harrasing them by arrest.

An Urgent Cabinet meeting had been summoned by the President this noon at Presidents House mainly to discuss on arresting and Harrasing of Defence Force chiefs it has been  revealed

As there's a case against a former Armed Force Officer over abducting and dissapearing of 11 youths during previous regime ,a court case should be filed against him if there are evidence againsf him President has stated during the meeting.

President has also expressed  his displeasure over the statement made by Minister of Wild Life Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka against current Army Commander and said it is not fair to criticize the Army chief  by holding a Cabinet Portfolio which was agreed by other Cabinet members.

Two Students Had Been Injured Due To An Explosion At A Sabaragamuwa University Lab

Two Students Had been injured and
hospitalized due to an explosion occurred at a Laboratory attached to Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University this evening (13).

The injured Students who are 21 and 23 year old had been admitted to Balangoda Base Hospital for treatment.

Police believe a chemical in.the laboratory may have caused the explosion .

Colombo High Court Has Acquitted And Released Five Suspects Including An International Drug Dealer

Colombo High Court has today 
(13)acquitted and released five persons including an Internstional Drug Dealer Mohommad Siddique arrested on 03 Rd of February 2003 over keeping 8.1 Grammes of Heroin in there possession at Maharagama area.

Colombo High Court Judge Vikum Kaluarachchi had ordered to  release the suspects as the complainants of the case not able to.prove the charges against suspects without any doubt.

The evidence  given to the court by Assistant Superintendent of Police Priyantha Jayakody attached to Colombo Crimes Division and other officers of the division who had raided and arrested the suspects were against each other High Court Judge has stated.

Attorney General had filed a case against the suspects .
