Seven Persons Arrested Over Galaha Incident Had Been Remanded

The seven persons arrested over
creating a Tense situation in front of Galaha Base Hospital last week over a death of a one and half year old infant at the Hospital had been remanded until 06th of September by the Kandy Additional Magistrate yesterday (02).

The seven suspects who were arrested at Delthotawatte in Galaha area by the Police on Saturday night (01) had been remanded after being produced before the court yesterday. 

Colombo Garbage To Be Disposed To Aruwakkalu Garbage Recycling Plant From This November



The Garbage collected in Colombo District is due to be disposed to the Garbage Recycling Plant and Garbage Disposal Land  at Aruwakkalu ,Puttalam to be effective from November this year according to the Ministry of Megapolis and Westetn Development .Preparation  of  a section of this plant and Land is scheduled to be completed by this  November to facilitate this it has been revealed.

The Construction work of the Waste Disposal Land and Recycling plant at Aruwakkalu under the Solid Waste Management Project  is currently underway and scheduled to be completed in September next year.After completion of the project  the Garbage Collected in Colombo will be transported to Aruwakkalu by a Train and a Railway line is currently under construction from.Colombo to Aruwakkalu for that purpose according to Ministry.

The Construction work of the Garbage Recycling Plant  project is handled by China Harbour Engineering Company and the US Dollars 105 million project agreement regarding this was signed on 29 th of December last year .

Currently there's  a problem of disposing the Garbage collected in Colombo after the Collapsing of Meeethotamulla Garbage dump last year.

A Person Arrested Over Female Constables Death Has Been Remanded.

The 27 year old person who was arrested over the death of  23 year old
Female Constable attached to Anti Corruption Unit of Panadura Police has been remanded until 14 th of September by the Badulla District Court today (02).

The suspect who is a Field Officer attached to Uva Katawala watte Estate was produced before the court today .

He was arrested over stabbing and burning his girl friend Female Constable to death yesterday  (01).The female Constable who was on leave at her home in Jagulla, Hali-Ela area had attended an alms giving ceremony held at nearby house before her death.

Nine Persons Injured Due To A Van -Lorry Collision

Nine persons had been injured one of
them critically after the Van they were travelling in colliding in with a Lorry parked at Mankulam area on Jaffna-Kandy main road in wee hours of this morning (02).

The injured were admitted to the KilinochchI Hospital for treatment .The injured who are residents of Chunnakam area ,Jaffna had faced this incident whilst returning home after going a picnic it has been revealed.

The accident occurred due to the Van driver falling a sleep whilst at the wheel it has been revealed.

A Person Was Arrested With His Motorcar Car At Southern Expressway

A 32 year old Motorists along with his
Motorcar carries a weapon and a sharp object had been arrested by the Police today (02)at Godagama Departure gate of the Southern Expressway.

The arrest was made as per a complaint received to the Emergancy line.

The suspect is a resident of Vitharande iya area and the reason behind carrying a weapon and a sharp object has not yet been revealed.

Two Bodies Of Wild Elephants Had Been Recovered From A Marshy Land

Wild Life officers have recovered
another two bodies of Wild Elephants from a marshy land in Periyanaru Canal at Thummodara Jala Galum Nimna Wild Life Park at Polonnaruwa today (02) whilst stuck in the mud.The bodies are due to be removed from mud tomorrow (03).

Bodies of five Wild Elephants had been recovered from the same Marshy Land yesterday  (01) as well.

Wild Life officers are currently expanding the search in Marshy Land to find out whether there are more Elephants stuck in the MUd
