A Deputy Solicitor General Appointed To Assist The Inquiry Against MP Vijayakala Maheswaran

An Additional Solicitor General has been appointed as the representative of the Attorney General's Department by the Attorney General to get legal advise from Attorney General during the inquiry that is being conducted  against former State Minister of Women's and Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran over LTTE Favoured speech made by her .

The Additional Solicitor General had been appointed as per the request made by Crimes Prevention Division from Attorney General  to appoint a Legal Officer to  get Attorney General's Advise during the inquiry.

Two Persons Had Been Sentenced To Death Over Heroin Smuggling

Colombo High Court had today (30) sentenced two persons who found guilty over kept in possession 20.28 Grammes of Heroin and involved in Drug Smuggling to death .

The two accused who are residents of Maligakande area had been arrested by the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau officials on 23 rd of January 2013 at Horton Place in Colombo while transporting Heroin from a Three Wheeler and produced before the court.

A 15 Hour Water Cut To Be Implemented In Biyagama Tomorrow (31)

A 15 hour Water Cut will be implemented  in 17 areas belonging to Biyagama North Free Trade Zone from 9 a.m to 12 in the midnight tomorrow (31)due to an essential repair work of pipe line according to National Water Supplies and Drainage Board .

Accordingly the Water Cut will be implamented in 17 Grama Seva Divisions (Rural Service Divisions) including Biyagama North, Siyambalapewatte ,Alubowila,De katana and Dompe areas.
