A Sudden Fire Had Been Erupted In A Building At Maliban Street In Colombo

A sudden fire erupted in the third floor of a storied Building at Maliban Street in Colombo Fort had been doused by the Colombo Fire Brigade this
evening(24).

Seven fire trucks arrived in the scene along with the fire fighters had been managed to controlled the fire by spreading it to near by buildings it has been reported.

No casualties have been reported due to the fire and the cause of the fire not yet been revealed.

Two Female Sex Workers And A Female Laborer Attached To A Brothal House Have Been Arrested

Corruption Unit of the Bandarawela Police have yesterday (23)arrested three females including two female sex workers and a female Laborer who had been maintained a Brothal House at a two storied house in New Canal Road near the Diyathalawa Army Camp during a raid carried out there

Accordingly two female sex workers attached to the Brothal House of the ages 46 and 17 who are residents of Anamaduwa and Kadawatha areas along with the 47 year old female laborer who had been maintained the Brothal house and lives in Diyathalawa  have been arrested by the police.

The female laborer that was arrested during the raid is attached to the staff of the Defense Faculty in Diyathalawa it has been revealed.

The suspects are due to be produced before the  Bandarawela Magistrate Court.

CID Had Begun Investigations To Find Out Two Stolen Valuable Artworks Of Late George Keyt

The Criminal Investigations

Department (CID) had begun an investigation to find out the two Great Art Works of one of the Sri Lanka's pioneer Artist Late George Keyt worth more than Rs.12 Million ,stolen while at a Building at Number 130, Galleny Street ,Colombo-02  and to arrest the culprits.

CID has seek public support to find out the stolen Art Works "Wasanthi"painted in 1950 and "Mother And Child"painted in 1953 and culprits it has been announced.

These two Artworks had been stolen during a renovation work carried out in the building where they have been  located on 12 th of July 2013 according to reports.

CID is investigating on the stolen Artworks as per a complaint received .
