Two School Boys have been drowned while bathing in Dee Ella Oya (River)

near Thalgasmote area in Veyangoda this afternoon(21).

Four School Boys in Veyangoda had webt to the Dee Ella Oya to take a bath while on the way to a tution class and as one had drowned while bathing another student who had attempted to save him had also drowned acccording to Veyangoda Police.

Residents of the area have saved the two Boys  who were of the ages 16 and 17 years old and admitted to the Wathupitiwala Hospital where they had succumbed to their injuries .

Three Persons Injured Due To A Three Wheeler-Bus Collision

Three members of a same family including a Mother,Father and a child have been injured and hospitalized after the Three Wheeler they were travelling in colliding in with a Private Bus near the Madurankuliya junction in Puttalam this morning(20).

The injured were admitted to the Puttalam.Base Hospital for treatment and their condition is not critical according to sources.

The incident occurred when a Private Bus travelling from Anuradhapura to Colombo had collided with the Three wheeler when attempting to overtake the vehicle.

No one in the Private Bus was injured due to the incident.However the Bus was toppled over the road due to the incident and residents of the area had rescued many passangers trapped inside the Bus.

An Underworld Gang Member Was Sentenced To Death Over Killing Three Youth

Colombo High Court has today(20)sentenced an Underworld gang member to death over shooting and killing of a three youth of the ages 16,17 and 18 years at Colombo suburbs on 02nd of November 2006.

The accused was sentenced  to death after  he was found guilty over the killing of three youth.

Attorney General had filed a  case on the accused and another person over the killing of three youth.The other suspect arrested over the killings have been released due to a lack of evidence against him.
