Former Welikada Police OIC Had Been Sentenced A One Year Imprisonment Over Assaulting A Lawyer
Supreme Court has today(18) ordered to implement the one year rigorous imprisonment imposed on former Welikada Police OIC Kamal Amarasinghe by the Colombo Chief Magistrate Court over assaulting ana harrassing a Lawyer.
The order to implement the One year imprisonment on the former OIC had made when taken up for hearing the Appeal filed at Supreme Court by the OIC against the imprisonment.
The former Welikada OIC Amarasinghe was charged on assaulting and harrasing a lawyer over overtaking his vehicle.

A Police Team Had Questioned Former State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran On Her LTTE Favoured Speach
A Police Team had questioned the former State Minister of Women and Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaren at her residence in Jaffna over the LTTE favoured speach made by her.
The former State Minister had resigned from her Ministerial Portfolio after the controversial speach she has made in Jaffna rally recently.
the Police investigations over the incident is handle by the Colombo Crimes Division.
Four Persons Have Been Arrested And Remanded Over Feeding An Infant With Liquor
Four persons including a father of a child have been arrested by the Megalawa Police in Anuradhapura yesterday(17) over feeding a 25 month old infant with liquor on 14 th of July.
The four suspects imcluding the child's father were remanded until 01st of August after being produced them before the Galgamuwa Magistrate court today(18).
The suspects have been arrested over the charges of making a child in to cruelty.
The child had been produced before the Anuradhapura Judicial Medical Officer for a medical test.
