Four Persons Were Arrested With Four Firearms

Four Persons were arrested by the Three Special Police Teams who had carried out raids in Monaragala area yesterday (20) with  possession of four local made  firearms .


The arrested persons are residents Of Ethimale,Wellawaya and Madagama areas and they are due to be produced before the Siymbalanduwa,Monaragala and Wellawaya Magistrate Courts.

The cause of the suspects to kept firearms in possession has not yet been revealed.

Postmaster General Has Decided To Pay The June Salary Only For Those Postal Workers Who Are Returning To Work

Related imageThe Postmaster General D.L.P Rohana Abeyratne has today (21) stated that if the striking Postal Workers are  continuing their strike further the Full salary of this June will only be paid to those who are returning to work from now on and those who are continuously engaging in the strike will only receive a salary for the period 01st of June to 11th of June.

The Postmaster General has requested the all Postal Workers who are in strike since last week to return to work immediately through a statement issued by the Government Information Department.

Father Of The Main Suspect Of The Central Bank Bond Scam Ordered To Appear Before The Court

The Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has today (21) ordered the  Chairman of the Perpetual Treasuries Group  Geoffrey Aloysius who is a father of the main suspect of the Controversial Central Bank Bond Scam imprisoned Perpetual Treasuries owner Arjun Aloysius .to appear before the court on 05th of July the next date of the case against Arjun Aloysius and Kasun Palisena of Perpetual Treasuries .

The Court order was issued when the case was taken up for hearing this morning.
Meanwhile Main suspects of the Bond Scam and Arjun Aloysius and Kasun Palisena of Perpetual Treasuries were further remanded until 05th of July by the Colombo Fort Magistrate after they were produced before the court today .

Two Youth Were Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

Two Youth were killed due to a Wild Elephant attack at  Madawalaulpataha in Naula area today (21).

The two deceased youth of the ages 29 and 30 years had faced this incident while returning  home by a Motorcycle after visiting a house in the neighborhood it has been revealed.

In a similar incidents a Wildlife Officer was killed by a Wild Elephant while engaged in chased away  few Wildlife Elephants to the forest at viranagama area in Girandurukotte few days ago .Also a Buddhist Monk was injured and hospitalized due to a Wild Elephant attack in vevelketiya area in Anuradhapura last morning (20).

Capsizing A Boat In Mahaweli River: Body Of The Missing Saudi Arabian Female Youth Had Recovered

The body of the female Saudi Arabian University Student who went missing after the Boat she was traveling along with six other Saudi Arabiana and Qatari nationals had capsized in Mahaweli River at Gohagoda area ,Katugasthota yesterday (20)  was recovered this morning (21) at Warathenna area .

The deceased was a 24 year old University Student in Saudi Arabia and had faced the incident after she and six others including another female were riding in a Boat in Mahaweli River yesterday (20). However all six persons who had fallen to the river as a result of the incident were saved by the residents of the area.

The body was recovered during a search mission carried out by the Sri Lanka Navy divers,Police officers in Katugasthota Police and residents of the area.
