Sri Lanka Produces An Equivalent Of 30 KG Of Waste Per Person Daily
If Sri Lanka were 100 people ,The country produces an equivalent of 30 Kilogrammes of waste per person everyday according to a report of Sri Lanka sustainable Energy Authority of the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy.
This calculation is based on the estimated Total waste generation in the country including Industrial Waste .
According to the United Nations Fund For Population Activities(UNFPA) By 2030 Global Target is to substantially reduce the amount of waste generated.
A Lorry Assistant Was Killed When A Lorry Was Reversed
A 31 year old Lorry Assistant was killed after being stucked between two Lorries when his Lorry was reversed back by the Lorry driver at Korathota area in Nawagamuwa .
The Incident occurred when a Lorry was reversed and the Lorry Assistant who was behind the vehicle had strucked between the Lorry and another Lorry behind him it has been revealed.
Nawagamuwa Police have arrested the Lorry driver regarding the accident.
The deceased was a resident of Udugama area.

Minister Of Finance To Remove The Tax Imposed On Private Hospitals

Samaraweera has stated today(16) that the Government will remove the Value Added Tax(VAT) imposed on Private Hospital Channel Services during next week.
This step will be taken as a part of the programme that provides concessions to the public by the good governance government he has stressed while addressing an occassion held to provide flood relief to the displaced people in Matara today(16).
Addressing the occassion Minister has said that the common people have to pay indirect taxes under the current system ,However higher professionals are hiding their earned money to avoid paying taxes.Only 400,000 direct tax files are there at the moment he has stressed.

Meanwhile when the Medical Specialist had met the Minister early this week to discuss on the reducing of tax imposed on Private Channel Services ,Minister has refused to reduce the tax.
