Health Minister To Grant Duty Free Vehicle Permits To Ayurveda Doctors

Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne

has decided to submit a Cabinet Paper to the Cabinet soon regarding granting of Duty Free Vehicle Permits to Ayurveda Doctors according to the Ministry Of Health.

This decision had been taken in view of giving the Ayurveda Doctors in the country the same status as Western Doctors the Ministry has stated.

Government Ayurveda Doctors in Sri Lanka   now can engage in Private practise as Western Doctors after 4 p.m according to the Ministry.

UNP MP Ananda Kumarasiri Has Been Elected As The New Deputy Speaker

MP Ananda Kumarasiri attached to the

Govverning United National Party(UNP) has been elected as the new Deputy Speaker of the Parliament today(05) with 97 votes .

MP attached to the United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA)Dr.Sudarshani Fernandopulle who had contested with MP kumarasiti had received 53 votes during a secret ballot held to appoint the Deputy Speaker.

Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna(JVP) and Tamil National Alliance(TNA)  have refrained from.voting and Some MP's in the Government and Joint Opposition too not participated the vote it has been reported.

The Deputy Speaker's post became vacant after UPFA MP Thilanga Sumathipala had left the national government with another 15 MP's after voting in favor of the no confidence motion against Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe.

A Leading Drug Smuggler Was Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin

A 26 year old Drug Smuggler who had

distributed Heroin from Colombo to Jaffna in large scale for a long time was arrested by the Galewela Police today(05) with 25.240 grammes of "Brown Sugar"  variety of Heroin in possession.

The Haul of Heroin recovered from his trousar pocket and the estimated value of the haul of Hetoin taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is around Rs.2 million it has been revealed.

The Drug Smuggler who is a resident of keselwatta area,Colombo-12 is due to be produced before the Dambulla Magistrate  court.

A Motorcyclist Was Killed After Collision With A Bull

A 53 year old Motorcyclist was killed

and a pillion rider was injured and hospitalized after the Motorcycle they were riding colliding with a Bull at Vavuniya this morning(05) and toppled over the road.

The injured Pillion rider was admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital for treatment.

The Motorcycle was dragged away few meters following the collision with Bull according to the Police.
