Heavy Showers Caused The Overflowing Of Kadupity Oya
Due to the overflowing of Kadupity Oya (River) to the road as a result of the heavy showers prevailing ,authorities in Mahawewa Provincial secretariat had taken steps to direct the overflowing water to the Sea through Thalwila it has been reported.
Due to this situation the overflown water of the Oya has been receding and a traffic congestion occurred in sea route from Wennappuwa to Chilaw .
As the Authorities are continuously delaying the building of a bridge near the Oya the overflowing is occurring every time when there are heavy showers the residents have stated.

Water Level Of Kalu River Continuously Increasing-A Large Number Of Persons From Ratnapura To Kalutara Near The River Banks Evacuated
The center has last night requested the people lives in low land areas near Kalu Ganga to evacuate from their houses .
The heavy rain is still continues in Most districts in the island and due to it water level of Gin River is increasing from Baddegama area ,Water level of Nilwala River is increasing from Pathadugama area and Attanagalu Oya from Dunamale areas according to reports.
Sea areas also predicted as will be rough in coming hours while the sea area from Galle to Trincomalee will be rough and windy and wind with the speed of 70 to 80 kilo meters per hour may be occurred according to the Meteorology Department.
Due to this situation Naval and fisheries communities are being advised to be vigilant over the situation.

Water Level Of The Kalu Ganga(River) Is Reaching It's Spill Level
Due to this situation the Department has requested the public lives in low land areas around the river including Madurawala,Bulathsinghala,Horana,Kalutara ,Palindanuwara,Kiriella,Elapatha and Ratnapura areas to evacuate from.their houses and move to safe places.
