Second British Rugby Player Who Was Admitted To A Private Hospital With Breathing Difficulty Has Died

The second British Rugby Player who was admitted to a Private Hospital in Colombo with breathing difficulty  on last Sunday Morning (13) has died this afternoon while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Hospital it has been reported.

The deceased was  27 year old person according to sources.Another 26 year old teammate of his has died in same manner yesterday (14) after admitting to the Private Hospital with breathing difficulty.

The Two Rugby Players who had arrived in with a 22 member British Rugby Team on 10th of May to Sri Lanka to Participate a Goodwill Rugby Tournament  had visited a Night Club in Colpetty last Saturday night and drank Alcohol and taken Narcotics heavily it has been revealed during the initial inquiry held regarding the incident according to the Police.

Cabinet Has Decided To Increase Bus Fares By 6.56 % From Tomorrow(16)-Private Buses To Launch An Island Wide Strike From Midnight Tomorrow

Cabinet has today(15) decided to increase the Bus fares of Private and Sri Lanka Transport Board(SLTB) Buses by 6.56% with effect from tomorrow(16) as per the requests made by Several Bus Unions  following the recent fuel price increase.

However the Minimum Bus  Fare of Rs.10 will remain unchanged according to the Government.

Meanwhile  as the Lanka Private Bus Owners Association and Inter Provincial Bus Owners Union had requested the government to increase Bus fares by 10% and 20% respectively including the Minimum fare ,The two Trade Unions along with All Ceylon Private Bus Company Trade Union Federation have decided to launch an Island Wide Bus Strike with effect from midnight tomorrow(16) as a protest of not increasing Bus fares sufficiently according to the Unions.

The Bus Unions now demanding a 20% increase of Bus fares and  the increasing  of Minimum Bus fare up to Rs.15.

Transport Activities In Passara-Bibilegama Road Have Been Disrupted Due To A Collpase Of A Soil Mound

Due to this situation  public and School Children in several areas including Ethpattiya and Bibilegama had faced enormous difficulties.

Cabinet Approved A Proposal To Recruit 982 SAITM Students To Kothalawala Defense University

Image result for kothalawala defense universityCabinet has today (15) approved a  Proposal to recruit 982 SAITM (Malabe Private Medical Collage) students to the Medical Faculty of Sir John Kotalawala Defense University after evaluating their qualifications. 

The Cabinet Proposal was jointly submitted to the Cabinet by the President Maithripala Sirisena and Minister Of Higher Education Wijedasa Rajapakshe.


The Kothalawala Defense University Act too will be amended to pave the way to admit the SAITM Students it has been announced.

Joint Opposition MP Dilum Amunugama Has Appeared Before The Terrorist Investigation Division Today (15)

The Joint Opposition MP Dilum Amunugama had arrived in Terrorist  Investigation Division (TID) this morning (15) to give a statement regarding the communal violence occurred in several places in Kandy last March .

The Joint Opposition MP was asked to be present in TID on 10th of May to record a statement regarding the communal violence occurred  in Kandy ,However as he had attended the Parliamentary Sessions on that day he had booked today to appear before the TID.

MP Dilum Amunugama had arrived at the TID accompanied by Joint Opposition MP's Namal Rajapakhse and Mahindananda Aluthgamage.
