A Haul Of Heroin Weighing 1.767 Kilo Grammes Has Been Recovered In A House At Horana
Police Anti Narcotic Bureau Officials have today (11) recovered a haul of Heroin weighing 1.767 Kilo Grammes hidden in a house at Moragahahena in Horana as per an information received from a suspect arrest with a haul of Heroin on 04th of May in Horana City.
The haul of Heroin worth more than Rs,20 Million has been recovered from a house belongs to the suspect who had provided the information to the Police on the haul of Heroin.
The haul of Heroin recovered from the house concealed in a steel safe according to the Police.

Presient Has Removed The Newly Elected Chairman Of The Timber Corpoartion Over Corruption Charges-Another EX Politician Has Been Appointed To The Post Today
President Maithripala Sirisena has yesterday (10) removed the former Parliamentarian Anurudda Polgampola he had earlier appointed as the Chairman of the State Timber Corporation and today (11) appointed a former Parliamentarian Shantha Bandara to the post according to the President's Media Division.
President had appointed Anurudda Polgampola as the new Chairman of the State Timber Corporation on 04th of May after the former Chairman P.Dissanayake was sacked from the post as a result of accepting a Rs.20 million bribe from an Indian Businessman along with the former President's Chief Of Staff . However as the local media revealed that the Polgampola is a corrupted person ,President has removed him from the post yesterday.
The new Chairman of the Timber Corporation Shantha Bandara has taken his appointment letter from the President this noon at the President's Official Residence in Colombo.

Airport Customs Have Arrested Two Persons While Attempting To Smuggle Foreign Currency Notes To Singapore
Airport Customs have today (11) arrested a 55 year old male and a 30 year old female while attempting to smuggle foreign Currency notes worth around US Dollars 72,000 (More than Rs.10 million) to Singapore at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport .
The two suspects have arrived at the Airport to board a Sri Lankan Flight flying to Singapore it has been revealed.
Airport Customs have launched an investigation over the incident.

A Pakistani National Was Sentenced To Death Over Smuggling 8.35 Kilo Grammes Of Heroin Illegally To Sri Lanka
Colombo High Court has today (11) imposed a Death sentence on a Pakistani National who found guilty over bringing 8.35 Kilo Grammes of Heroin Illegally to Sri Lanka by hidden inside a Potato Container in 2010.
The accused Said Mohommad from Pakistan was sentenced to death due to found guilty over smuggling the 8.35 Kilo Grammes of Heroin to Sri Lanka by hidden in a Potato Container between 23rd of November to 08th of December 2010.

An Assesser Of Inland Revanue Department Received A 14 Year Rigorous Imprisonment Over Accepting A Rs.15,000 Bribe From A Businessman
An Assessor attached to the Anuradhapura Office of the Inland Revenue Department was sentenced 14 years of rigorous imprisonment by the Colombo High Court today(11) over accepting a bribe of Rs.15,000 from a Businessman to provide a concession for him on a case filed on a Tax Issue .
The Colombo High Court Judge Sampath Wijeratne had sentenced the accused Assessor who found guilty over the charge leveled against him,A 14 year rigorous imprisonment plus fines of Rs.15,000 and Rs.9000.
The accused D.M Janka Bandara Dassanayake was arrested by the Bribery Commission in 2004 over accepting a Rs.15,000 bribe from a Businessman who had avoided paying taxes .Later the Commission had filed a case in Colombo High Court over the bribery charges.
