Health Minister To Submit A Cabinet Paper On Removing VAT From All Health Services

Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has yesterday (05)instructed the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe to prepare a Cabinet Memorandum suggesting to remove VAT Tax from all Health Services for the benefit of Patients in Sri Lanka according to the Ministry Of Health.

Health Minister has instructed Dr.Jasinghe on this during a meeting held with representatives of Private Hospital Association at Ministry of Health yesterday.The representatives of the Private Hospitals Association had shown the Minister that the Patients are facing enormous difficulties due to adding VAT To the  Hospital services they received   from the Private Health Sector and stressed the need to remove these Taxes.

A Stock Of Banned Insecticide Packs Were Recovered In Kekirawa

Officers attached to  the  Anti Corruption Unit of the

Walana Police had arrested two trade stall owners along with 1017 (100 Grammes each) packs of banned insecticide  in KakIrawa area last noon (05).

The suspects are due to be produced before the court.

The Suspect Arrested Over The Rape And Murder Of A Boy Was Remanded

The suspect who had arrested over the

rape and murder of a ten year old boy at Iranaw has been remanded until 08th of March by the Chilaw Magistrate Court today (05).

The suspect who was arrested while hiding in Nayaru fishing village at Mulathivu area yesterday (04)was remanded after being produced before the Chilaw Magistrate Court.

During the  court proceedings residents of the area had protested in the court premises against the suspect.

The body of the deceased child had recovered in a reserve at Muwapitiya;
